Hi everyone :)

So I am making this post simply because my boy Zuki has been making me laugh lately with all the strange food he seems to like (that cats usually don't!) that I thought I would share it with you and see if any of your babies have similar tastes!

Yesterday evening, my boyfriend made curried sausages for dinner. The pot was sitting on the bench still, and Zuki fished out pieces of pumpkin. Just the pumpkin! And was enjoying it on the floor! Now, obviously the sauce they are cooked in isn't good for him, but a bit of pumpkin won't hurt, so I rinsed out some pumpkin pieces for him, and he finished his plate!! He absolutely loved it!!

He also enjoys steamed mushrooms, carrots, peas, corn, pancakes, noodles, pasta, bread, yogurt, broccoli, etc!! He is such a strange one. My other bengal won't even have a taste!

(Please not these are not things I feed him on a daily basis. It's just on the occasion that he happens to steal a bit from our plates!)

Lol!

Most of my previous cats used to have weird tastes.

Tchai would eat fresh tomato, and spit out the skin. He also liked crumbed ham but only when it had mustard on it from a sandwich!

Rusty would sell his soul for chicken tikka biryani curry and pilaf rice! If we had takeaway he would have a complete moody for a week if he didn't get to clear the left overs from the plates....

Cleo used to like a cup of tea... from the cup!

Ruskie, my first ever cat as a bay, used to like corn flakes with warm milk - He used to get my breakfast every day because I didn't like them! Mum caught me feeding him one time, and from then on he got his own smaller bowl, and she would watch me force mine down... YUCK!!

Merlin goes nuts if he smells a chocolate eclair, and wants some of the cream, and he follows me around begging for butter if I have toast or a bagel!

I wouldn't have it any other way - Those quirks are what make them individual, and even more lovable!

Raiden does not like table food at all. For one thing, we eat the spiciest of foods (or add enough spices to make it super spicy) which I'm sure would not be good for Raiden to eat. He sticks to cat food and cat treats. My husband has tried to feed him cheese and he wants no part of it. It is probably for the best. I had a cat previously who loved Doritos and Cheetos.

Anything - literally have to keep Echo off everything.
Ishka is just curious but she doesn't quite eat stuff that is not cat food, usually.

Under the "anything" category, some of the favourites are:
- my paella, with chorizo sausage if possible
- lettuce, if seasoned with good olive oil then that's even better
- cheese, preferably the spanish one I bring from back home, if not, parmesan will do (they'll lick the cheese grater, which is just... eurgh!), if unable to still a piece from my hand, the rind will do
- any other charcuterie from home (none of that crappy french saucisson my boyfriend is fond of, these guys only do serrano ham at its best)
- tomato sauce
- any leftover milk and cereal from the morning
- rocket - mostly to play with it

ergo: my cats are Spanish, I'm sure, even if they were born in England

My two are notorious for finishing off the sauce from any curry that I have made, loving it while it is there, but it plays havoc with them. I have to prepare, eat and then clean immediately each time now because they will eat it regardless and the aftermath is horrendous!

My mums cat, Bob, isnt a bengal but hes a little sweetheart. A moggy. My mum puts down fried mushrooms for him of all things!

None of my current cats have any weird cravings.

My calico always has to sniff my food before I eat it. Maybe she's just checking to make sure it's safe for me ;)

My cat as a kid was a tabby, and he LOVED flaming hot Cheetos! I opened the bag and his head dove straight in!!!

I try to keep human food away from my cats to discourage begging, but there are a few exceptions. Every Sunday I fill bags with Tuscan kale and arugula for my lunches during the week. This is a ritual after coming home from grocery shopping. Grace and Blondie will wrestle me to the ground to get at the kale and arugula! They fight over choice pieces and gobble it up hissing at each other during the process, especially Grace. It is particularly enjoyable if they manage to steal it from the bag.

They also go bonkers over vanilla ice cream. Blondie also likes fat free cottage cheese and Greek yogurt. Last year I was making Christmas cookies and they became crazed over powdered sugar and marshmallows! Can you imagine?

When Mercury was a kitten, he like thing made out of flour. He went crazy about breads, even stole uncooked dough once. He sometimes want grape which I heard is not good for cats.

After he grown up, he exclusively eat chicken and lose interest of almost anything else. The only things he like out of chicken breast is dairy products, he somehow hate milk but love ice cream, cheese and cheese cake.

Of all the human food that my kitty encounters, he really likes my (wholwheat, e.v.o. oil-brushed) toast - I think it's the texture that gets him.

He always wants to check out whatever I'm eating by smelling and pawing it a bit.. maybe a little taste.. but toast is the only thing he'll actually want to eat.

From kale to curry to cooked bread, huge range!

Griffith likes anything sweet he has a thing for fruit, melon, mango's and strawberrys he also likes maple syrup which I try and no let him have and butter.

Arya oddly always tries to drink my tea if she can get to it I've caught her a couple of times jumping up go where my cup is to drink it.

My old girl Mina was obsessed with bacon and gamon and would go nuts over it, of course with the salt content we didn't give it to her but it didn't stop her stealing some occasionally. She also really loved butter and scrambled eggs.

All 3 won't let me eat cereal without them trying to get their paws in to grab some
