I know kittens are growing into their bodies, but the way Archer is shaped seems a bit odd to me. His rib cage is slightly barreled, and it seems to expand a bit more after his rib cage ends. Then it sucks in at his flanks and only comes out a bit more at his rear legs.

I was worried and took him to the vet and he said he's just a big growing boy - that he's going to be big and growing fast so he looks a bit awkward.
Even after hearing the vet say that I'm still not convinced.
What are your thoughts?

It definitely looked more drastic a month ago, so he is filling in a bit but I still worry.

Personally he looks perfectly normal to me, he's very handsome.

Looks spot on to me - a very fit and perfectly proportioned boy from above. Gorgeous markings!
This is a very good guide to cat shape...

Good to know, thank you!
On my other two (not bengals) I had not seen a shape like that! They always just went straight back!

Raiden's body tapers at the waist like that as well. Your bengal shape is not like any other cat! He looks perfectly normal to me -- plus he is still growing.

Perfect :)

I was almost worried maybe it was worms or something causing a bloat, but he has no odd symptoms.

Looks just right to me. Blondie has a dramatic taper too. I love looking down at her silhouette as she trots in front of me where ever I go. She is very active and getting more muscular as she ages.
