Ok so I've searched the forum to find more information on the zombies but I can't see much except that people keep mentioning it. My kittens have started going nuts and running around the kitchen at high speed, jumping from tree to windowsill to couch.. Play fighting and just expelling an incredible amount of energy. It's all very amusing but does anyone know why they do this or of its a lifelong thing or just a kitten phase? They tend to do it right after meal in the morning and at night before we go to bed and although I don't mind.. I can see my BF freaking out a bit.. He sent me a message the other day worried because he though they'd gone crazy.. It's actually pretty funny to watch. But I'd simply like more information so I can understand how they think and if it's a case of supplying them with more toys or attention or if it's something that will continue regardless.

Oh yes, the zoomies!!! They are running off excess energy! Mine does it at times and literally flies over my head. Bengals have a ton of energy and not a lot of room to use it up if they are indoor cats. Even on our daily walks, Raiden isn't running (unless he spots a jogger with a dog). Play time, he sits in the middle of the bedroom and I do all the running around him (he's such a backwards cat). You have two of them who will get the zoomies together -- look out!!!

Ahh good to know! I do play with them a lot and they are both very playful even if Kira is less cuddly..
But I just find it very funny that it's the same tim every day and they go absolutely bonkers!

Sherry I'm finding the website invaluable.. Anytime they do something I'm unsure of I'm coming onto here and searching for information. It's been brilliant so far and I'm naturally a worrier so this has put my mind to rest about lots of things. Thanks for all your assistance!

My 2 have the zoomies or crazies as I call it quite a lot especially after a visit to the litter box, Magic will whizz off at a thousand paces straight from the litter tray sometimes accidentally leaving a small nugget on the floor, Pearl will then be in hot pursuit.

They sometimes sound like a herd of elephants running from downstairs to upstairs bouncing off all the beds and window sills then back downstairs, this goes on for some time until they both collapse and Pearl is usually panting.

They run up the cat tree so fast it shakes and Pearl runs up the 4 foot scratching post and sits on the top.

Ahh the thunder of kitten hooves. :-)

The zoomies are ace - as said, it is a sign that they are happy and healthy and full of engergy.

I was pointing out to my two yesterday that they had been really lazy, then they started with the zooms at 23:00. This morning they zoomed out of their rooom and all over the apartment until it was time for me to go to work like they desperately needed to make up for yesterday.
