So my other half was away overnight for work and he left extra food, extra water bowls. But did he leave extra litter tray? No he decided he knew better and one would do. So this morning he came back in to a dirty litter tray and a mess on the bathroom floor next to it. He's currently cleaning up the mess whilst I'm resisting the urge to say I told you so...

Oh dear! Just be grateful you are not there, otherwise you would have ended up clearing it up. That seems to be how it works in our house!

You probably need to permanently add at least one other box now anyway as they are growing. My two tend to use one for wee and the other for poop. And get the biggest litter boxes you can - we bought large initially but had to change to jumbo within a few months. Its amazing how much waste they can produce as they get older lol

Generally the advice is one litter box per cat and a spare. We only have two though and it works okay with regular cleaning up.

Your other half is determined to learn the hard way, isn't he? If I remember rightly he ignored you on the Dreamies front as well

Yeah he thought he was saving himself a hassle of cleaning two litter trays. He'll learn...

It's a MAN thing, I hate to say it! My hubby would be the same exact way. He takes the easy way out and tries to do as little as he possibly can. He would think cleaning the litter box once a week would be good enough--I know it's a horrific job to clean out all the stuff, but if you do it as the cat uses it, the cat is so much happier and the mess is so much less. I hope your better half learned his lesson!
