I totally understand what you are going through, you are definitely not alone as you can see from the other replies! We had to replace blinds and remove all curtains. We have one area with wallpaper and that is gradually being stripped. I want to replace it anyway, but I would point out that my other half had a moggy here previously and he also scratched at it.

I definitely think you need to spray your paintwork with something that will repel her. I also tried strips of sticky paws on our best furniture but they soon worked out how to pull that off with their teeth. Fortunately the sofas seem to withstand it and they don't do it so much now they are older, but I would never buy anything leather again as I've had to get rid of my leather headboard as it was scratched and punctured by their claws and I couldn't even look at it!

She may calm down a bit when she's older. Ours were over a year old when we replaced the blinds in the kitchen as they were literally about to fall off and hanging by a thread. They have survived since (touch wood) so there is light at the end of the tunnel. We still need to replace the hall carpet, I would never buy looped carpet again as if their claws catch in it, it unravels!

Thank you Tabitha. Yes our couch also is ruined but in not as bothered about that as it was old second hand anyway and I want to replace with fabric . I am going to get a repellant spray and sticky paws for sure the wallpaper has only been up not even a year so if possible I do want to try and repel her.

LOL!! We were lucky with our first two Bengals not too much damage to the soft furnishings, quite a few trashed ornaments etc but that was about it. Our third Bengal Chester.. has the naughtiness of all 3 rolled into 1! Needless to say all leather items in our house now resemble braille!! I think we have been lucky to be honest but I would suggest that as well as trying to discourage the behaviour you do not want it may also be easier long term to replace the furnishings over time with more Bengal-proof ones! I think the reason we have been so lucky is that we already had painted walls (no wall paper) and wooden floors in most places, however our stairs carpet is looking thread-bear on the bottom step so I m looking for a better alternative !!

Raiden is all over our furniture, but he sleeps on it and has never scratched it. He uses his scratching posts exclusively! I guess I should be thankful.

I think cloth sofas are more forgiving than leather. Once leather is punctured with nails or teeth, it is pretty much ruined. My cats use their scratching posts constantly, but I have seen them stretch and scratch on the arm of a micorfiber sofa and it doesn't leave any marks. Make sure you have plenty of fun scratchers for them. I also have my cats nails trimmed once a month (by professionals, lol).

Speaking of nails trimmed, I discovered they trimmed Raiden's at his teeth cleaning. I did not ask for it and wouldn't have had it done! After all, they are simply going to get sharp again. Hubby is dying for a leather recliner. Even though Raiden doesn't get on his current one, my husband is the problem! He eats dinner there, spills food, drops his fork ... he's worse than a cat and would have the leather ripped in no time (and probably blame it on Raiden).
