I have two male Bengal brothers that have been neutered, they are four yeas old now. They both are tending to go off for quite long periods of time up to six days, with me having to go and retrieve them. Is this a common problem?

Outdoor male cats, in general, roam. Even neutered ones. As cats explore and gain more confidence, they will expand their territory. Many return home at night. Others may be gone for days at a time. The hard part is when they don't return and you begin worrying about them. You're very lucky if you know where to find them. They are obviously finding a food and water source, which could be a neighbor who enjoys putting out food for stray cats.

Your best bet is to give them a safe area in your yard where they can enjoy the outdoors yet not have access to roam free. So many things can happen while they are roaming. Cats don't understand the dangers that await them in that big world outside their own yard.

Many thanks for the reply, I have gps trackers that I put on them, they tend to go back to the same places and talk back when called. one of them go's about one mile away from home. I live in the countryside so no neighbours for half a mile or so.

I think it's unusual to disappear for six days at a time, but not completely unheard of. I have seen this situation once, but the cat in question went to live in the woods because of too many cats at home. She would follow the owners home if they came to find her, but she never stayed home for long before going back to the woods.

I also have two four year old neutered males, but they have never roamed far at all.

GPS Trackers are great as long as they stay ON the cat! I was wondering how you were able to locate them. Do you always find them together? Partners in crime? LOL

I like the idea of trackers, but wasn't sure how to fit them on cats.
I have trained my 2 to come for food when I whistle, which carries further than calling, and they usually come back within 5min.
We are out in the country but they haven't stayed out more than a day.

Hopefully, they've been able to make the GPS trackers smaller. They were a little bulky on kitty cats. Unfortunately, a tracker is only going to tell you where the tracker is. If it's fallen off the kitty, it's of little use. But, if it helps find the cats, that's great.
