I'm just curious to hear opinions on this. My female kitten is a typical Bengal in every way possible. I would describe her as sociable on her terms. She is a complete love bug with me . anyway we had visitors the other day and she jumped up on me purring wanting stroked then when I stroked her she bit me. This has never happened before and I'm confused as to why because she came to me . I let it go and she she came back again and the same happened. Its not happened since our visitors left and I'm wondering if she felt threatened by them being in our home ? Just curious really its very very unlike her

Cats are territorial and if she's never done this before or since, I'm guessing the people invading her space were not to her liking and she was letting you know. I recently had a friend spend the day with me and Raiden hopped up on the arm of the couch next to her and sniffed her out, rubbed up against her and let her pet him. This is the first time. For everyone else, he runs away and won't come near them. Cats are instinctive. But obviously, she did not want them in her home.

Did she bite - break the skin, or mouth - pinch your hand with her jaws ?

Could it be that you were paying more attention to your guests and she was missing out ?

Since the bite happened while she was on your lap and you were paying her attention, I'm not sure jealousy was an issue. I think it was the addition of new smells in the room, the aura of new people that she didn't know. Maybe they weren't cat people and she knew it. Do not be too alarmed unless this happens again without anyone visiting. However, it is normal for kitties to enjoy biting at some point in their lives. Hopefully, it wasn't a serious bite.

Babbage always takes the opportunity to get cuddles and bother me when I'm on the phone. If I call someone/get a call he appears and jumps up on me.

When Skyping my mum I try and get him to face towards me and away from the camera - my mum has seen rather more than she would like to have of his rusty sheriff's badge.

She didn't break the skin no. It was more the shock of feeling her teeth on me than anything . not sure if it was jealousy I was focusing on stroking her when it happened

Grace gets over stimulated pretty quickly. She recently started shedding so I started brushing her which gets her crazed. she starts whipping her tail about wildly and rubbing against thing with force, but keeps coming back for more brushing. She gets so wound up that I stop. She gets over stimulated pretty quickly with Da Bird too, darting her tongue in and out, acting all crazy. She has primal behavior I have not seen in other cats. Even Blondie looks on with amazement.

Being over stimulated makes sense there was a lot of different noise etc she is an extremely intense cat very vocal and when she wants attention she MUST have it ! Everything she does is full on but we have a good routine and she knows what to expect maybe she didn't like the routine change too.

I agree over stimulation can result in a bite ... it's just odd when it comes out of nowhere and it's never happened before. There must have been a lot of talking amongst all of you -- attention was thrown off the kitty until she jumped up on your lap. I just hope it doesn't happen again.
