You found a dream breeder! She did everything a reputable breeder should do! She has very happy owners for that very reason. Makes the transition from the breeder to your home much easier on you and the kitty! We love to hear these happy breeder experiences because we usually only hear about the bad ones.

So ..... how is it going with the kitty? You posted about the breeder -- your baby is finally with you. We want to know what you think about the kitty!!!! You waited so long!!!

Thank you sherry she really has been great I can just see how much she loves her cats. some people seem to squabble about getting pedigree's and things. she gave us all this extra without even telling us it was a lovely suprise to have this bag of things for her and also all the paperwork organised into a plastic folder.

so....YES! she is home! She is in her own "safe room" at the moment. we let her come out the carrier herself showed her where the litter box was etc then she found a spot to hide in. Which is fine all these new noises and smells for her to deal with. we left her to it for a while as she had a fairly long journey. I went up to see if she had used the litter box as it was a long drive and to my suprise she was hiding in her box I didn't realise this until I lifted the flap on the roof. she spat at me suffice to say we both got a huge fright :surprised: (was not expecting her to be in there hiding ) anyway I left her back to it. It was fairly late ish by this point. So this morning I spent some time talking with her (she was hiding under a clothes rail but out of litter box) I never approached her but got out her dangly toy which makes a sound like a mouse and she loves it. she came out and played with me for a bit I did not want to over do it. she let me stroke her head and then backed off again which is fine because we are both getting to know each other and it will all be in her time. My oldest daughter got to see her (shes been instructed to stay out of her room for the time being) and my daughter lay on the floor with her. Thea (thats her name) Obviously found this non threatening body language very appealing as she came out to play with my daughter and they had a ball for a little while before I felt she had enough. I still have no tried to pet her again because she is still getting used to me and still pretty wary. She will come to me in time I am confident on that. when I collected her she was SO ADORABLE and cuddely with the breeder So I know she is a sweet girl she is just adjusting to this new household. each time I go into her room she is coming out to investigate faster each time. She has been beside me sniffing my hands etc So I am happy with that for now.

oh and she is SO BEAUTIFUL! ( in my opinon) much smaller than the photo's make her look . I kind of felt judging on the photos she was not going to even look like a Kitten but she does and she is super lovely!

going to *try* upload pics in Gallery

Congratulations on your new addition. My kittens were very scared for 2-3 days before they came out of hiding and started jumping up and down on me non-stop. Enjoy the lovey-dovey kitten months ahead.

Misty, you've obviously read up on acquiring a new kitten. Thea will adjust beautifully because you are slowly allowing her to investigate at her own pace. You're not overdoing the playing or petting. Just give her a week or two and I'm sure she will be joined at the hip with the family! She sounds wonderful and that breeder is a great one. Sounds like Thea has been socialized but just needs time to get used to her new surroundings and people. Congratulations again. I know it was a long wait for you.

Yes I did. you are right she was well socialised in the home with lots of interaction from the breeder but this is all very new to her. And I do have kids also and although they don't approach her she will be wondering where all these little stomping feet noises are coming from etc. I will keep you all updated as to how she settles but like you say sherry I am sure in her own time she will be right at home
