Primer does have a horrible odor, but it will go away eventually! Put a litter box anywhere you want. If it would help to have one in your bedroom, add one there. Just make sure he stays out of your closet. Always make sure you know where the kitty is when you close doors. I shut my closet door yesterday morning and heard Raiden crying from there minutes later. I was about to look for him. Your son is adorable with the kitty. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that this all works for you!!!!! You should only need another night or two on the couch! LOL

I have a litter box in my room. i was not originally keen on the idea but works out the best way and have a really good litter too so there is no smell or tracking :)

The problem is he is SO quick! I keep my door closed usually. If it's open I go find him before closing it. I've kept my door closed since I noticed this problem but he is smart & quick & even more determined to go in since the door is closed. He can zoom in before I noticed an darts to hid under the bed. Tricky kitty! Going to try & keep the closet closed off. Well today's the day! Going to put the padding & carpet back down :)

Hired a sitter for an hour and half and got my room put back together. New padding in & carpet back down. I then did a quick shampoo job again with special urine stuff & once it was fully dry I sprayed it some with some cat urine cleaner. I'll smell it tomorrow & won't have my windows open which will be the real test but I think I almost have this huge problem solved! Now just need to clean that freezer that got bumped & left ajar :/ So happy, tonight I get to sleep in my bed again!

I know what you mean about bengals being fast. Raiden can run through the back and front doors so quickly and in very little space of an opening. You just have to be diligent. I'm glad you're now putting things back together. You've spent a lot of and money to try and fix the situation. If the concrete is sealed, the padding tossed, and the carpet clean on both sides, then I'm sure the odor will be gone! Considering this is where you keep your clothes, you definitely want the smell gone. Can't wait to hear how things are tomorrow.

The smell is the worst. My husband's tortie cat was peeing under our bed at our old house. Took me a couple of weeks to find it and it was right where the floor joins the wall so the pee was up under the wall trim and everything. I had to take our bed apart and take it out of the room to be able to get to it all. We slept in the living room for a couple of weeks. I cleaned the carpet at least a dozen times and used a half gallon of vinegar, soaking it into the padding and letting it dry.

I would definitely put a box in the bedroom just in case. Even if it's a plastic tub turned into a box so the baby can't get into it as easily.
