Warning, you will get very upset.. this is a graphic image. But I felt I must share to urge why indoor cats are so much safer INSIDE. There's too many dangers outside now, and people like this. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not leave your cat unattended outside.

I have seen this on Facebook a thousand times and still get pissed off! I can't believe a vet would ever do such a thing and on top of that brag about it! She needs to lose her license and go to jail for a VERY long time!

I was almost more pissed off by her supporters! "She made a bad choice posting it to Facebook..." omfg, are you kidding me? And they are going to "determine" if she is guilty of animal cruelty???

People are so F***d up, I don't even know why I'm surprised at this point. Where's a hillbilly when you need one to put an arrow through her neck?

What I couldn't believe is that a veterinarian would do such a thing! I'm glad she was fired, but charges need to be filed. This is animal cruelty at its worst and she's setting a terrible example.

Does she hate all cats, or just the unloved homeless ones? What a monster

Turns out too that the cat DID belong to someone and was lost/missing. Just an awful thing. The picture breaks my heart. it baffles me that she has supporters who say "she shouldn't loose her job she was a wonderful vet." She kills the very same kind of patients she works with for "fun". How can you possibly justify her right to keep her job? all so sick and sad.

I agree with CMYKJill- as if it's the stray cats faults they are homeless. They do what they can to survive.

I hope too that justice is served.

The latest is the sheriff is seeking animal cruelty charges against her and the Veterinarian board is doing their own inquiry and she could lose her license to practice (or possibly be put on probation, I guess). At any rate -- who in their right mind would take any animal to this person for care? I could not understand something like this if the kitty were seriously ill or injured by a car. She just assumed the cat was a stray. Like ... how can you really tell? She just wanted target practice! The fact that she decided this was a "free for all" cat and then finding out it belonged to someone -- the owners of the cat need to make sure charges are filed. I don't know how anyone could support what she did as being a good thing.

Stray or family pet, who could take the life of any helpless mammal like that with a weapon? I hope there are consequences for her actions including mental health evaluations. I guess I feel the same way about hunting. I just don't understand those urges.

I'm not big on the hunting thing either. I do understand that in some areas, there is a multitude of animals fighting for what little food is available and they hunt to weed them out. But game hunting for the sport? Not for me! These animals have a right to be on earth just like we do, Unfortunately, we've taken much of their territory and made it harder on them. I have a nephew who loves to hunt for sport, who will actually EAT the meat. I just can't do that. In fact, my husband loves to fish and I make sure he puts the fish back in the water and not keep it.

Hunting for a meal is definitely much different than hunting for sport. When you eat the animal you're using it as a resource. I don't consider what this girl did hunting, I consider it murder.

All the "hunting" that is going on in Africa breaks my heart too. They have canned hunting grounds where they pay top dollar to "shoot a lion" and whatever else, and then the facility that allows these hunts claims it helps the animals left in the "WILD". They use the logic that if someone will pay lots of money to shoot these animals legally, then they won't be as tempted to hunt the wild animals that are left. And then the money being put into the program "can" be used to protect against poaching and protection. But I don't really see how killing an animal for a sake of another is justified... At all. It's the same evil in my eyes. The problem isn't being solved- a beautiful life is still cheated and stolen from an animal whose sole purpose is to live. Another death, of another animal that should have been living in the wild. The problem is the people who get enjoyment out of killing and smiling next to dead animals and hanging them up on their wall.

I keep looking for an update that says charges have been filed! I mean, how much more proof does the sheriff need here? People need to be very careful what they post on social media as things get shared and before you know it, it is all over the world. You can delete the post and picture, but it's too late -- and thank goodness. Maybe this will stop some other person from doing something so senseless. And I hope this gal NEVER gets another job near animals.

I agree with you Sibencke. So many animals are being hunted down for all the wrong reasons, especially in Africa! But, it's been going on since the beginning of time.
