Can anyone recommend a good cat harness please

The one we use now is the Mynward cat jacket, available online. I have had two of them and they have been great. They need to be placed on the cat very snugly to ensure escape prevention.

We had a happy housecoats jacket that was probably just as good.

A custom made fit is important for security. We have had 3 jackets over our cat's lifetime that were sized to fit, as he grew.

There are three main types of harnesses: the harness jacket, the H harness and the figure 8 harness. I use the H harness on Raiden. It has a strap that clasps around the neck and a strap that clasps around the chest. It's completely adjustable. With the figure 8 harness, the straps all come together at the neck. The harness jacket is probably the best, but if you have a kitten and they are still growing, you'll have to invest in other ones down the road. Some cats do not like having all that fabric around them. Take a look on Google and see which one you think would work best for your cat. The H harness is not expensive and will grow with a cat. The harness jackets are custom-sized.

I guess what really matters is what harness your cat will be comfortable wearing.

We started with an H harness, they were easier for our kittens to get used to as the straps are not as restrictive as a full on jacket. An hour a day wearing the harness, then after a couple of weeks, taking them outside on leads. Now they are patient when we get the jackets out, and will just sit and let us put them on with no resistance or hassle because they know they are going outside.

We built an enclosure but I bought a Mynwood jacket (used with a 15m retractable ribbon lead) last summer for our 4 year old Bengal Suki so she could enjoy the back garden and the grass under her feet. It took a week for her to get used to it, now I just have to say 'out' and she sits on the kitchen mat to have her jacket on. I also use it to take her to the vet or when she goes to the cattery, the pet carrier stressed her, she totally relaxes on the back seat of the car beside me.

I have 2 from Happy House Cats and they have been great. Alex happily wears his, will sit patiently and wait til I put it on him
