Hi,

This is my first post here on the forums, so I hope it's in the right section. I do apologise otherwise.

Me and my partner are waiting for our two lovely Bengal kittens, Skadi and Styx, to be delivered in a few weeks. We bought 2 bengal kittens from the same litter.
The issue (if you can really call it that) is what colour one of the kittens have, Skadi, see picture below (yep, kitty is in the "fuzzy stage" ;) )?

Not even the breeder is sure what colour our kitten is.
She think it is brown spotted (like the mother) but the kitten is extremely pale and she said she wasn't 100% sure. The father is silver spotted.

Anyone got a good guess how our little Skadi will turn out? :)

It is really hard to tell from that picture. It appears this kitty will be lighter -- and I'm going to say more silver. It really shouldn't matter because the kitten is beautiful. Congratulations.

Your kitten is a silver. I would be very hesitant about purchasing from a breeder that doesn't even know what color her kittens are. That's a little strange to me!

Of course it doesn't matter! She's a cutie pie! I am mostly just curious since I know very little about the colour development of Bengals. I guess time will tell

When born Skadi looked like this:
She is the kitten to the far left, with both brown and silver in her coat compared to her silver spotted brother to the left.

Also now she got more cream and brown in her coat (especially the face) than her brother, who is clearly silver, maybe it didn't show up well on the initial photo.
Is it usual for silvers to start out with other colours in the coat and then brighten?

That's weird they look totally different now. Not that I'm any expert!

It's tarnish. Some silvers have it and some do not. Some have more than others. She just has a little more than her brother does

She is tarnished Silver, you can always tell a silver because the temples will be completely cool even if the points of the cat has warm areas on it.

We went to visit yesterday and she is registered as silver, so it seems to be in order.

Here her tarnish is more visible. Is tarnish usual and/or desirable?
I find it supper pretty at least! ;)
The other kitten is her brother Styx that we also have the privilege to bring home in 2 weeks! :D Can't wait for kitty mayhem! ;)

Silver bengals are gorgeous! Such a difference from the pictures of the litter when they were just born! I think the color gets more vibrant as the kitten grows! You will have a stunner on your hands.

Skadi looks lovely now and will be gorgeous when she comes out of the fuzzies. The brown patch over her nose seems clearer and more definded than Ada's did.

On the show bench it isn't desirable to be tarnished.....however, that's showing and you love her tarnish, and I think she is beautiful....I will say I know someone who has a heavily tarnished silver who is a quadruple grand champion ....that is no mean feet ;-)
