Hello!
My partner and I adopted a kitten about 3 months ago and ever since we have been curious about whether he is possibly a bengal, mix, or something along those lines. Something about him seemed "wild" and unlike other tabbies I have seen before. I've had a lot of cats and know lots of people who have standard dsh cats. We named him Jun and his personality is incredible. He is extremely active, playful, curious about water, very vocal when he wants something, and all around a great cat. My partners aunt visited us while in town and noted that little junbug looked like a Bengal which sparked my curiosity. He is almost five months now and his coat is starting to smooth out a bit and I read about the whole fuzzy thing bengals go through (he was a super fuzzy when he was very little). All four paw pads/skin are completely black and no pink. The only white spots are on his chin and upper chest barely. Even if he isn't bengal, we love him dearly.

Beautiful marbled kitty! The bengal originated with the breeding between the Asian Leopard cat and domestic tabby, so the bengal has a lot of the tabby characteristics. I can't really tell if your baby has any bengal in him or not. He's a gorgeous kitty, regardless and I'm sure you love him no less. I don't know how many bengal mixes are out there -- probably not a lot except with a backyard breeder. You could have a marbled tabby. Your baby looks so sweet, regardless! So just love and enjoy him. That face is precious!

Sometimes I think he looks like McGonagall when in cat form.

He is so cute!

It's difficult to say whether he has any Bengal in him or not though as if he is a mix he could have more of a tabby mix than a Bengal mix if you see what I mean.

Bengal's have a very different coat than other cats (more like a pelt) very soft.

It doesn't matter if he's a Bengal or not. I'd be proud to own such a beautiful cat whatever he is.

His coat is remarkably soft but that could just be his kitten fur. He has barely shed at this point so I'm interested in How is coat develops.

Here are a couple videos of him that I took today, officially 5 months a week ago, still spaztic and super active as always. Still no sign of any shedding. We took him to petco to get a leash and a harness and he shed in the car (stress I think) but nothing other than that. His coat has been evening out a lot and lot of little brisley furs of his have been going away.

I didn't notice until now, but he has glitter on the bottom of his back paws. Not sure if that means anything.

if you wonder, get a DNA test from your vet. I was sick and tired of fighting with my in laws over if my girl was a bengal or in their words "just a tabby" her last vet visit resulted in talking over dna tests to save my sanity. it took all of 3 seconds to get her samples and like 2ish weeks to get results :) her parents DNA was however already in the system which made my day as i got extensive background on her family tree :) while i guessed she was at least part bengal i found out her father i a giant Melanism (a black on black) and her mother is a mix between a silver and a Cinnamon which accounts for the random orangeish patches and the glitter when she sits in the sun. Even if your kitty is not a bengal its always cool to learn their background! lol no cat is "just" anything they all come from some "high class". in the future weather the cat is free or not i will get a dna test done just to understand it better :)

I will probably talk to my vet about a dna test if possible. I saw that you can order them online as well. Another question I have is does glitter develop? As I looked at his coat last night and today, it definitely had glitter in it.

My cat looks a lot like yours. It looks like yours likes to pose for the camera just like mine does too! :)

My vet was the first to tell me that mine was a bengal mix and was shocked that we had found him as a stray. Our boy is nearly 2 years old now and has so many bengal characteristcs that I don't doubt his lineage. Even if he isn't a bengal, he is one of the most amazing cats I have ever owned. I don't know about your cat but mine seems to know he is gorgeous and completely takes advantage of that fact. :)

Here is my boy:
