Me and my fi want to get both a yorkie and a bengal cat.
Do anyone have experience with these two togheter? I know the bengal cats go good togheter with dogs, but i don't know about this little yorkie half its size..

My other question, in what order should we get them? Should we get the dog first, then the cat, or get them at the excact same time? We will get both as puppys around 3 months old.
And yeah, does the sex matter in this case? Both female, both male or one of each?

I don't know much about Yorkies but I can tell you that our Bengal LOVES our Great Danes. We had the dogs long before the Bengal and he was scared of them when he was little (I would be too with that size difference!) but he absolutely adores "his" dogs now.

I have a bengal and a Maltese and they do well together. She does get a little rough with our dog every now and then but nothing that causes great concern. Our bengal outweighs our dog by two pounds and our male bengal we had out weighs him by 10 pounds. They never really pay too much attention to him to be honest. Although they do sleep together most nights and the occasional bengal zoomie turns into the dog getting the rough end. I would suggest getting your puppy first and getting potty training down before you add a kitten. Things would probably be a little harder if you get the kitten first. Not to mention getting a puppy requires frequent trips outside, which leads to more opportunities for your bengal to dash out the door.

I have three bengals and a Boston terrier, so I can relate a bit to what you're thinking of doing. I had two of my bengals for about a year and a half before getting my dog. I got Ellie (the dog) when she was 6 months and she'd been around cats before so she was very well-behaved around my cats. She chases them sometimes which two of my bengals like. My third bengal came after I got Ellie and she's still a little skittish around Ellie. However, the other two bengals cuddle with Ellie and let her "kiss" (lick) them all the time. I think it helps that they are all within a year of age and about 5 pounds of each other.

One BIG thing you might consider, especially with the order you get them, is that dogs are far more trainable than most cats and also typically are more receptive to change. Some cats HATE their environment changing and adding a dog can emotionally scar them. So, I might suggest getting the dog first, training it and then introducing the kitten. Preferably while both are still young.

Just know that bengals generally are okay with dogs but it is going to depend on your bengal. It would be good if your breeder had a dog and the kittens were introduced to that pet. If you're getting them both as a puppy and kitten, you could probably get them together,however, both would need their own safe rooms and be introduce slowly. Remember, getting a new home is a huge change for both of these animals. New people, new environment, new smells. So things can't move too quickly. Both can feel stressed out due to the changes.
