Diablo has bonded very strongly to me as well. I especially love when he snuggles up to me during the night. Sometimes he doesn't feel like it, but I find that as he is maturing (he is now the ripe old age of 2 years old!) he is becoming more of a cuddly little friend.. Although, he is definitely NOT a lap cat!

The problem with the Bengal breed is people! Not to cause any offence here but IME Bengal's are friendly, self assured, wanting to be everyone's best friend type of cat. Their popularity hasn't helped nor the number of breeders. I look at websites and wonder to myself sometimes why some feel the need for so many cats in their programs? Any breed of cat will turn feral or nasty if they are not given the time and social skills by those who breed them. It annoys me a lot too that the breed can get slated at times, I hope that in time people will realise this or educate themselves.

a reg feral cat can sometimes bite through leather I thought? thats why we don't ever hold them with leather gloves, its like picking up a raccoon with gloves on they can eventually bite through it if they keep trying, or they will get free and slash you silly.

Breeding bengals below F5 is not legal in my country, so off course their behavior and looks don't come across as "wild" as they would on a lower generation, thus resulting in less fuss about the breed. As of now I only hear good things, but of course there was some reactions when I first announced that I would purchase a bengal (from ignorant people). "Wow, but aren't they huge though? Don't you have to build a special cage and only feed him raw meat or something?" Other than being a bit more muscular than the average cat and having a feral looking coat and a more wild headshape, he's just like any other housecat. Friends of mine describe my bengal as "weird" compared to their own cats, but I take that as a compliment.

I have read hilarious things online off course, that they eat other cats and slaughter everything in their path. My cat has dragged in both mice and birds, but no dead feline has appeared at my doorstep before

someone who has 3 bengals and 3 abby told me the abby are a bit more wild and dominate the the bengals. They also are more active.


Egyptian mau is my other fave breed I always wonder how they compared.

I agree with Abooksigun, I think the bengals popularity you is also a problem... Too many breeders after making money.... Which is a real shame.

I have a 7 year old Bengal. He's not got much of the Bengal personality. Hates people he doesn't know, is scared of his own shadow.... I blame his breeding to be honest as I found out after I developed issues with him that, although he was born in the house, he was only ever allowed in the kitchen. Never in the main house and was outside in pens after 7 weeks of age. It should have asked better questions at the time. I learnt so much!



Btw: I know a breeder or two of Egyptian Mau and they are friendly cats. I would say more laid back than bengals. I know Abyssinians can be hyper, I adore them! I breed Tonkinese who are far more trouble, energy and destruction wise, than my Bengal!
