I just moved to a ground floor apartment and I raised the blinds just a few inches so the cats can sit in the window. Maasai was just sitting there watching the world go by when a little staffy jumped up at him. I have never seen him move so fast! His tail puffed out to be about 2 inches thick and startled is not the word for the expression on his face! He hasnt built up the courage to go back up there yet, but he is keeping a keen eye on it!

Did the breeder not get him used to dogs, or was he just caught off guard by the staffy's sudden appearance?

Ground floor apartments allow our cats to view the entire world, including dogs. Was the dog on a leash and being walked or was it roaming free? Cats can be startled by anything, so I'm not surprised. This does not indicate a lack of love of dogs, but I think cats in general are hesitant around dogs. I know mine doesn't like them at all.

Im not worried about it at all, to be honest it was funny! Maasai wasnt fazed by it really, just shocked. The breeder didnt have dogs so he has never seen one before, I think he was just thinking 'what on earth is that!'. The staffy was on a lead and just being curious. No harm done, just a bit of education for poor Maasai!
