Cuddly Bengal? Or Not?

Lots of discussions recently about bengals and their cuddliness (or not). I figured we might as well do this somewhat objectively...

If you have more than one bengal, kind of aggregate the them into one hypothetical bengal, and pick the closest description.

A great poll to shed light on a VERY commonly asked question about Bengals :mrgreen:

Only time I get cuddles is when its really cold or if I bribe Cleo and she is already looking for a napping spot.
When Cleo was a new arrived kitten (and after her spay) I got LOADS of cuddles every day.. really miss them now :confused:

Max is very cuddly, loving etc... and i can pick him up any time i want and carry him around.... However, i cannot put him on my lap, he will just jump off as if i've offended him!! he will climb on himself and often does 2-3 times a day but i cannot put him there..... he does love to be carried though and will often leap at me from wherever he is :rolleyes:

None of those options fit me, so I won't pick any.

Alex won't ever sit on my lap, however he does like to be wedged into me whenever he can (when it's not 44 degrees) and follows me about like a little shadow. He adores affection and looooooves to be patted. He hates being picked up and resists like crazy.

I can carry Jasper around like a baby and he never complains, I can't hold BB for two seconds without getting getting a very evil look along with a pitiful meeewww! BB on the other hand is the most cuddling and affectionate and WILL NEVER turn down a belly rub. Jasper on the other hand will give you a little nip if you touch him in the wrong place like the top of his neck :rolleyes:

he hates to be touched there! So really I consider myself luck, both of my babies love to cuddle and have attention but in their own way. Combine their traits together and we have a balanced kitty :mrgreen:

Neither of mine are consistent. Fausto is more cuddly now that it is cold and will seek out a lap if he has the opportunity but if it moves, he's gone. Max is incredibly affectionate, but not snuggly... Unless he's cold.
Faust likes to be ON me, especially at night for awhile. In fact, he just arrived for his nighttime snuggle. I shant move for the next 45...because I'M cold, ha ha.

I have voted for the closest match.

Chilli - will sleep on my lap and will cuddle up beside me in bed but will tear me to shreds if picked up!

Jasper - always sleeps on my lap and will cuddle up beside me in bed but is happy to be carried if it is him that has jumped on my back!

I have voted for the closest also. Merlin will always be on my lap if I am sitting down - doesn't matter where I am!
Indoors / outdoors / high stool....
He is not so keen on being picked up, but puts up with it by moaning disgracefully - A drawn out Meeeeeeeeooooooooowwwwwwwwwwharrumph!
But he doesn't actually struggle, and will give me kisses while moaning!?!??
He gets into my skin for bed, and will sleep under my chin, across my shoulder. So he can make sure I wake up when he does as he hopes to get treats, methinks!
What makes me laugh most is how he can be on 'his Grannneeees' lap, when she visits, but the second I sit down, he zooms over to mine!

My bengal likes to be petted when he's sleepy. :wink:

HATES to be picked up and stuggles like crazy. Also he hates to be kissed on forehead (I do that to my cats :redface:

). So far has slept on my lap ONE time. Does follow me when i leave a room. Checkes up on me when I'm sleeping and a few times ended up sleeping next to me. Otherwise it's all games and fun, no cuddles=) Yet.

Why is this even a discussion? LOL. I'd love for my Bengal to cuddle or lay on my lap. He hates being picked up and held. He will lay on my husband's recliner in between his legs - but not on a lap. He has never cuddled -- EVER!

Yuki gives the best cuddles when he's sleepy or first woken up ….doesn't mind being picked up but defiantly not a lap cat. Funny when people visit & meet him for the first time & expect a cuddle…he gives them about 30 seconds tops of his time :lol:

Jax is SUCH a snugglebug in the morning!!

He gives me a little nibble on my chin if I am not awake when he wants to be cuddled. He snuggles, snuggles, snuggles until he realizes that he is hungry or that its time to play. Then he whines until I get up and feed him!

The rest of the time, if he is sleepy he is happy to snuggle with us under or on a blanket. BUT, if it is playtime, there is no time for snuggles in this house!
