We collect our Bengal kitten in 2 weeks time. Our current Tabby & white cat is insured through Virgin. She is due to be re-insured soon. Has anyone had any really good or really bad experiences with any particular insurers (i've never had to claim on Virgin) but they seemed pretty comprehensive for a good price. Do you tend to get discounts if you have more than one pet insured??

Hello, There has been a lot of debates on here re: insurance..
From my experiences E&L are apparently terrible at paying up when you need to claim..
and the best is apparently Petplan but they are one of the most expensive..
I was with M&S insurance but they doubled their premiums last year so now I save each month in a separate account for my pets..
So far Ive only paid out £100 ( in claimable vet fee's).. in 5 years so I guess Im quite lucky..
Just make sure you read the small print as a lot only cover you for 12 months of an illness and not the lifetime of the illness..

I'm with petpals for both Saffy and William.
When i had to claim for Horus, we were paid, in full, with no questions, within a week of claiming, and we had a sympathy letter.
A premium policy is only around £7.50 per cat, per month and they do discounts for more than 2 pets (i assume that means 3)
Their basic policy is around £6.50 (can't remember the exact amounts offhand)
They cover for lifetime illnesses too.
I honestly couldn't praise them enough!

as queenb said, be sure to make sure the illness is covered for life & not just for a year.
