I wondered why I was always so short on money last year when that never really happened before. Well, I've done my year-end bookkeeping and I wonder no more. I've been waiting for 15 years to be able to have pets and I apparently went way overboard with spoiling my kitties once that time came. I'm not talking about purchase price because they all were "free" rescues but vet costs, cat furniture, litter, food, toys etc. I spent $850 for vet visits and medication alone and another $1000 for cat furniture and such. Even without the vet costs and one-time furniture purchases, I've apparently spent on average $120 per month per cat on food, litter and toys. With four cats right now that's more than I spend on my groceries and toiletries. Am I nuts? I kinda feel sorry for whoever is going to adopt my fosters because the longer they stay here, the more they will become spoiled rotten...

oh my goodness i dread to add it all up.

certainly every spare bit i have is usually being put towards something to do with them. actually, i'm usually saving up for the next thing...currently stud fees

there's always a long list of things i would buy "if i had the money" too.

they deserve to be spoilt rotten if i have it, they deserve it spending on them.

flippin heck... too scary to add it up haha..
I reckon I spend more on the catlings than the children
I guess if you count the shows too, each entry so far has cost over £100 as I show 3 kittens, twice in a month..
that just to enter not inc travel-food- stall purchases etc..

Not a lot as I :
- don't pay the food
- don't pay the vet (no vaccine, deworming tablet, flea treatment paid...)

So I just (oviously) paid for Chaos, for his lab blood analysis at first (we could even have skipped that apparently but it was 50€ only), for part of the toys (some I got for free at work), for the cat tree, for the litter and litterbox and... that's all...

I spent a pretty sum at first but now, every month, I've only the litter to pay for (and that's not very expensive) and sometimes a toy !

Sammie is spoiled and that's all there is to it.
