Is your Bengal always darting for the door to get to the great outdoors?
Or have they accepted they will always be an indoor only cat...

William is like a cat possessed. I've chased him up the garden path, fallen over in the mud, all in my glad rags because he did a runner on xmas eve. It was raining, i was not happy.

He darted out of my hand when i took him for a lead walk last week and again got me flying down the garden path to get him.

I caught him today trying to bite the chicken wire away from the wood frame of the cat enclosure with his teeth...

He darts out the door every time you open it, and he can regularly be seen with a foot/nose/tail stuck in it. Ok, so that's an exaggeration, but you get the point..

Saffy seems to have accepted that she's not allowed out and only occasionally does she get the wind up her tail and itch to get out.

Am i going to have to watch the door for the rest of his life, or is it something he will grow out of...?

The breeder I bought my cat from suggested to go outside and prop the door open. When the cat starts for the door, throw some keys or something that makes a loud noise just outside the door on the ground (not at the cat). Keep doing this, and the cat will associate the scary sound to the outdoors. I haven't had to do this yet, as Jupiter and my moggies don't really try to go out (yet).
