I have come home from work today and some how my two bengals have locked themselves in my living room! I felt really bad as they have had no access to food, water or........LITTER TRAY!! So you can guess that they have poo'd in the living room but not just on the floor no, on my couch!! I have tried to clean it with fairy liquid and detol AND vinegar! I cant get the rancid smell off it! I have a dark leather couch. PLEASE HELP!! I have visitors tommorrow and need some tips how to get rid of the smell!! Any advice i will try i am desperate!!!!

You can try 'simple solution', although I have always sworn by soda crystals as it really does remove the smell completely

Dettol is a no-no where cats are around. If you want to use a disinfectant, I would switch to Savlon

If your leather colour fades after cleaning it, try www.leather-doctor.co.uk for treatments

biological washing powder solution or bicarb of soda solution to clean it, then wipe over with clear vinegar to prevent them going back.

i've tried simple solution, it worked for a while but then they went back & the smell is an acquired taste. i know vinegar isn't exactly a pleasant smell for your sofa but it has done the trick for me. it wears off after a day or so & they don't seem to mess there again.
