I try to give both my bengals a bath once a week with a shampoo that I like. There seems to be alot of nice shampoos that smell wonderful but they are listed for dogs. Do any of you guys use dog shampoos on your cats and if so what are your results or problems, if any.

I was told you should never use dog shampoo on any cat. My mom worked for a vet back in the day. One day one of the workers bathed a kitten in dog shampoo and the kitten went into shock... I don't know too much on the matter, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

Big pet stores like Petsmart and Petco carry a large array of cat-specific shampoos in the kitty isle. I found a great smelling one there... although it is weird to have a scented cat, haha.

There is one at pets mart that I like but there are so many more choices for dogs. I like my cats to smell nice when people come over or we take them out without hurting them.

there is one at petsmart that is purple- it smells alright. lavender i beleive?
as with all things that goes on your cat- remember to rinse WELL. your cat will ingest it if you don't- they'll end up eating anything on their fur when they clean themselves.
so... you should never have a scented cat...... you need to rinse better?

it's recommended to use only a *tiny tiny* bit of shampoo- you could water it down 1:4. it still works well and is easier to rinse

We rinse and rinse and there's still a scent afterwards. It's kinda like when we use scented shampoo and body wash and there's a bit of scent that lingers. If we rinsed the kitty anymore she would be soaked through her insides, haha.

Honestly it's probably not that strong... I probably only notice it because I'll stick my head right on her and nuzzle her with my nose, so my nose is all up in her fur. No one else I know does that.

well i use a bit of fairy liquid and it does work wonders
