thankyou everyone for your kind words ,william is doing fine ,great to see him relaxed and playing i think he misses mika because he will stop what hes doing briefly and look up almost waiting for her to creep up on him like she would then they would both have a mad 5 mins but yes william is doing great,we are missing mika so much that tiny little face with those huge eyes but she is at peace now ,once again thankyou for your kind words.john

sorry bundles for not repwhat you asked ,the flat chest was not mild and was from both sides,when we brought mika that she had a deformed chest but in no way would it effect her we were not told about the pitfalls of a flatchested kitten,yes she was half the price of other kittens although to us she was price she definatly had a uniqe quality of her own she was almost human bless her ,we all miss her so much i still cannot bring myself to look at photos of her yet ,i did email anne the following day when mika was laid to rest but at present have not heard back from her ,i know annes health has not been to good ,i have just come home from hospital after a 4day stay for an ongoing thing but while in there a nurse was telling me how she had a burmease kitten with a flat chest who only lived untill 8months its so sad that some have to fight for there tiny lives from day 1 ,im not sure breeders should charge the money that some do knowing the poor kitten could and probably will die very early,to us mika is just very special very special.william on a more positve note is doing fantastic hes totally at home and very relaxed now and him being a top showing cat for 3yrs yet we were not asked silly money a good home was barbaras priororty ,barbara is such a lovely person always at the end of the phone if i need to ask advice or to give her an update on william thankyou barbara for such a beautifull boy in looks and character i would reckomend her to anybody looking for a kitten,anyway thats it for now manythanks everyone for your kind words.john

poor little mika, such a shame.

i had a little flat chested boy. it didnt show til he was 10 days old, he seemed to fight as fit as the others until 5 weeks old, then all of a sudden went downhill overnight & i lost him. it absolutely broke my heart as i was under the impression if they made it past 3 weeks they had a reasonable chance of survival.

it's a difficult one, there are lots of contradicting reports as to life expectancy, but at least little mika had a happy six months. bless her, she's at peace & time will be a great healer for you.

so sorry for your loss of mika. do you know if the breeder uses heatpads for her kittens when they are born. its just that i believe that heat pads are something to do with flat chested kittens. as well as a vitamin deficiency. i know someone who was getting the odd flat chested kitten all the time and they were using heatpads in the kittens nest. they have now stopped using them and dont seem to be getting anymore flat chested kittens. would be interesting to know if your breeder also used heatpads.
