Hi everyone. I'm new to the boards. A little waif of a kitten showed up on our doorstep recently, and she is unlike any cat we've ever owned. The vet classified her as a silver tabby, but she had webbed feet, and not slightly webbed, they are webbed all the way to the claw on all four feet. She also has hind legs that are much longer than her front legs and is very long in the body. All my research led me to these being traits of Bengal cats. Are these traits also common to other breeds? She just had such an unusual build and personality!

I'm not an expert on cats in general, but it does look like you've got a tabby.

Some members on here have different breeds of cats so they might be able to offer you more information, but the kitty in your photo does not look like a bengal to me. I do know that bengals aren't the only breed with long bodies though and some member's moggies act more like 'bengals' than their pedigree bengals. You can't class 'bengal personalities' as only applying to the breed because you'll not find a bengal who's exactly the same as another

She is darling! She could be a mixture of any breed and you'll never know for sure. I do believe that webbed feet is an Asian Leopard cat trait but I'm no expert so maybe someone else has better advice. Enjoy your new little sweetheart!

aww she's gorgeous but like above, she doesn't look bengal. My moggie has lots bengal traits but as you can see, he is black and white

Shes a lovely brown tabby, not a sliver I think that any cat can have webbed feet? Vets dont know much if anything about colours and breeds unless they breed themselves, they just deal with illness, my moggie boys hind legs are longer than his front one, no bengal in him at all

If she just turned up at your house she maybe lost so remember to put up posters and take her to the vet to be scanned for achip incase her family is looking for her

I am not really sure of how true it is that Bengals have webbed feet, nor of how many non-Bengals have webbed feet either, to tell the truth. It is not high on my list of priorities as to what constitutes a Bengal though.

What colour is your kittens's undercoat? - part the fur on her body and look at the colour. If she is truly a silver, the undercoat will be pure white.
