F1 owners, come in

The GF and I are thinking about getting another cat to compliment our 2 bengals. I am wanting an F1 and was wondering if owners could give advice on their F1's.

My silver male (Duke) is SBT and is very laid back and lounges around. I also have a brown female (Pixie) who is also SBT but she is full of energy. She plays with Duke all day and the energy is non stop.

I have heard some people say that F1's CAN be a handful.

we need a dangerous wild animal license to own them in the U.K, so few people have them, but i'm sure some of our american friends will have some advice for you

Thats interesting. How far down the line from the ALC do you need to be to not require a permit?

The breeder that I got my silver Duke from has 5 ALC's so she sells alot of F1's.

SBT are at least F4

In France I don't know if you need a licence just for ALC or also for F1, F2 and F3... not sure about that !

a f1 is just as quiet as a sbt if its reared right from day one. i find mine are infact quieter than the sbts because they are more nocturnal. they really do sleep most of the day and stay up half the night. they do play a little more rougher than sbts. but once you have a f1 you will understand the beauty and intelligence of this amazing cat . nothing quite compares.

We own an F2 girl Saez Effie ..Mother to Sarez Pow Wow & Grandmother to Sarez Zeus

We have found her no different to an sbt ...She will still curl up on your lap for a cuddle & she has a cheesy feet fetish

We also have an f1 pet boy ...He mixes very well with our sbt's
But i have found he has his fave girly ...
They are much more vocal than sbts but i wouldnt say any different to keep than an sbt

As you know i have an extra soft spot for Al ..even allowing him to share my bed

He is a credit to his breeder Pauline from Gayzette Bengals

Agree with all thats been said here. Any opportunity to show off my early generations, Kaiser my F1 male and Minerva my silver F2 female. They are simply wonderful

Nifa - you're right, F1 is the closest to the ALC. As you get further away from the ALC, it becomes F2, 3, 4 etc, then SBT.
