My Bengal 'Lily' 10 months has recently started to scratch glass doors, mirrors and the fish tank. She looks very distressed when she does this and I don’t know how to help her. Over the last 3 weeks it has got worse.

Please can someone give me some advice as to why she is doing this and how I can help her.

My guess would be that she's reacting to her own reflection in the glass. Is she the only cat you have in the house? If so, she may be trying to get close to the reflection hoping to find a playmate...I may be barking up the wrong tree but it was just a thought that came to mind.

Hope you manage to get to the bottom of it.

Mikesch scratches mirrors and windows, too. I always thought it might be related to pawing at a water surface. The smooth reflective surface suggests water and he paws away at it until he tires of it.
