F1 kittens are on the BBC news. I saw it on the BBC news last night and on the news on ITV this morning.

Thanks for posting that, I had heard that there was an article in the Daily Mail yesterday, but by the time I found out, it was sold out.....

On the bottom picture - I presume that is their mother that is missing her spots, is this normal for Bengals then? Zeus and Hestia's mum had lost her spots too....

Wow, I keep telling Luke that I want to get an ALC, although he has to buy me a huge house in the country first with lots of land and then make me a huge enclosure to keep the ALC in

TBH though, I think their are more than 5 ALC's servicing breeding programs throughout the world. You only have to look at the web sites of some of the Bengal Yahoo Group members to see that people do actually own ALC's (this is just my opinion....not fact!)

HOWEVER......a new ALC certainly does mean a new blood line which has got to be good news for us in the UK, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those lovely F1 girls...but not at that price

The Bengal's seam to have been pretty popular in the news in the past few months what with the cloned kitties, Kofi the b*stard rottweiler of the cat world, SISCO - Lynne Hedlund's marble Bengal that won the best in show prize at the National Cat Club in London and then this story!

Here is the website of the woman who has the kittens. She also has a half sister of my kitten-Vonvarda Angel. They have the same father. The way my breeder talked she was not too happy about her having one of her cats.

Unfortunately many breeders don't want anything remotely to do with Sarez bengals, Or anyone afiliated to them for that matter, Which I find really annoying considering all the time and hard work that Esmond and Sarah have invested into the bengal breed.....not to mention the amount of money they've spent over the years importing new lines into the uk!

Plain old jealousy, Thats what I think anyways! <_<

Even at some of the cat shows we go to you get the feeling that its a very "clicky" circle of friends that dominate the world of bengals here in the uk.....meaning it's twice as hard for new breeders to make a name for themselves!

However we've made alot of new friends going to the same shows who also share our views.....so the clicky ones better just move over and make some room for us new-comers!

Mmm, the plot thickens...now I can see where this breeder has got his/her figures from! Sarah & Esmond use to sell their cats for thousands to the celeb's and the royal's.

Sarah & Esmond sold their breeding stock & Prefix and as far as I know have bought an Island and have dedicated it to wildcat rescue (or something like that). Looks like this breeder has bought some/all of their stock!

I'm not convinced they'll get the money they are asking...but good look to them if they do, just so long as the people they let the kittens go to are fully Informed and can be trusted with a semi wild animal.

I'm not sure, but don?t you need a wild animal licence to keep anything above an F4?

I thought in the UK a wild animal license is only needed for an ALC, all bengals are treated as domestic..... I thought I read that, might be wrong though....

Yeah, that's right, all Bengals are domestic cats; However, you can not call a cat a Bengal until it is an F4 i.e. it's closest relationship with an ALC must be 4 generations away from the cat (Great-Great Grand Ma/Pa).

F1 (which is what this breeder is selling), F2 & F3 are called hybrids not Bengals and can not be registered or shown as a Bengal cat which is why I'm not sure if they need a licence or not...They're not Bengals but they?re not true wild animals either.
