Tomorrow my fiancée and I are heading out for a 10 day trip, and I'm starting to get really sad! Plus I think Sammie has caught on to what's happening, with all the bags strewn around and all the cleaning going on, and she's been following us from room to room, watching us carefully, and just has this totally sad look on her face. We haven't had her quite two months and this is the first time we're leaving her for more than a few hours.
I've gotten quite use to her sleeping on the nightstand next to me, and waking up and giving her usual headbutts and daily affection.
She will be staying home in the "cat-proofed" version of our apartment (with the bathroom and closest being closed off to her curiosity), and my friend will be checking on her every other day, scooping the litter box, and filling up the food bowl. I think she will be okay, as she is a rather independent cat (except in the mornings when it's headbutt time!) and has no problem being home alone all day. I figure as long as she doesn't get too mad and poops on the bed, everything will be okay!
I still can't help to already feel sad and lonely. She's really laying on the affection in the past few hours as we have been packing and I just wanna hide her in my suitcase!
Heh, it's probably going to be way worse on me to leave her than for her to not have us around!
