Oh, goodness! Where the heck do I start?
I have very many friends with cats. They love their cats. It seems they don't know very much about them though.
Of course everyone whom I'm remotely aquainted with knows I'm planning to have Bengals. Nevermind the myths about Bengals, it's incredible the ideas people have about cats in general.
1) you shouldn't neuter a female cat until it's had at least one litter
(anthropomorphic sexism or what)
2) None of them comprehend the reason why a cat should not leave it's Mother until it's weaned (13 weeks). Everyone seems to want a little 5 week old kitty. Awww. Until they become a handful and aren't so cute anymore.
3)Supermarket food is perfectly good. You're going to spoil your cat by giving them the expensive stuff and(or not) real meat. Say the folks who eat at an insanely overpriced restaurant once a week.
4) You're a snob for buying a pedigree cat. There are plenty of cats in shelters who need homes. (These are the people who will of course, not listen to me when tell them that their belief in#1 is one of the many reasons that leads to #2. nevermind
)
There's more, I just give up at this point.
Just needed a little vent. Thanks for reading.
