Does the vet know what's actually causing the problems with Hestia's kidneys?

not sure Ginnym, we know Hestia has always had problems with her kidneys, she had problems when we first got her, and again 3 months later, she has always 'wet' in funny places, and drank alot of water, it could just be she has always had the problem with her kidneys in slow progression.

I remember you saying about the kidneys when she was having tests for pancreatitis and it does sound as if there's been some underlying thing going on, possibly all her life. I know you'll do the right thing for Hestia however difficult it is - let's hope it's not as bad as the vet thinks, we're all rooting for her.

I have to bring you the sad news we had to let Hestia go tonight, her test results showed there would be no hope for reprival, the kidneys had failed. The vet showed us the graph of the results and it was way off scale, she had other problems too, because of the kidney failure.

We are all saddened by it. We take comfort in the fact we had her at home over the weekend, she had her last supper of prawns so she didnt go hungry.

RIP HESTIA we will always love you. Good night our sweet princess your running free in Rainbow Bridge. x

So sorry Michelle, it's an awful decision to have to make but it's the kindest thing you can do for them to let them go when there's no hope. You did everything you could for her and she had a wonderful life with you and with Siobhan and Gavin before that. Run free at Rainbow Bridge Hesty, Samson went there a few months ago and he'll be looking out for you xxxxx

This has been a very difficult weekend for us all ending up with a tragic end that we had to let Hestia go from us. This has not only affected us but Gavin and Siobhan who were the previous owners of Hestia.

In the time we have had Hestia she has brought so much love to us and our family. She was 1 in a million and can never be replaced.

As Meemonkey has said Hestia and Zeus are the founder cats of this site and we were so proud to have had her for the years we have. I will personally miss her so much knowing she will not be sitting on my knee anymore or waiting for the car to turn uo and run to the front door.

My angel has gone to play with so many others over the rainbow bridge and taken a piece of my heart with her. My thourghts are also with Gavin and Siobhan at this time.

I am deeply saddened by the news, god bless you for making the right choice for Hestia and for making her time here the best she could have.

Run free at the bridge with Clawdius and all our other dear furfriends at the bridge Hestia.
