I'm new on this forum... My friend fell in love with the Bengal breed a few months ago and I was lucky to meet a breeder a few days after he talked to me about them. I saw a true Prionailurus bengalensis and a very cute Bengal female then and I couldn't help but fell in love with them too...

I looked out for a breeder but there aren't a lot in France (yes I'm french so please excuse my english...), at least with beautiful Bengals, or they are very expensive.

In June one of my colleagues had a litter of kittens and tried to make me take one : he sent me some photos and I fell in love with a little guy who had a Bengal look, and so Onyx came to our lives . He's now almost 4 months old and I thought he seemed to be a little bit bored (both of us are working) so I looked out for a friend and I finally found a Bengal breeder not far from us. I asked if there were some kittens, and the breeder sent me some photos... among them, an awsome little guy for almost half the usual price for pets ! I asked for the reason and it turned out that he had a heart murmur since a disease he almost died of so she was selling him for pet at a low price instead of for a stud.

Well I'm a vet and my friend too so I thought well we should be able to give him the best house he could have .

So little Chaos (in France it's the C's year... the whole litter was called with greek gods' name beginning with C, Chronos, Calliopa, Cassiopa and Calypso) will be coming home tomorrow and I can't wait ! I saw him last week at his breeder's house (we wanted to visit first before taking any decision) and he's soooo cute ! .

I hope they'll get along well but as they're the same age it should be ok .

He's a beautiful brown spotted tabby and white and he loves water almost as a Bengal , I bet they'll get along just fine . He's just a lot bigger than Chaos, he'll be a big boy I think !

They are both so cute.

Chaos has nice markings (in my opinion!) - cool names by the way, very appropriate.

I'm sure they will make the best of friends and keep each other entertained.

Our little bengal managed to befriend our older ginger tom, it took a few months but now they play about together and sometimes sleep next to each other. The ginger one even has a thing for grooming our little bengal girl.

How old are they both?

Chaos couldn`t have found a better home with you being a vet, and passionately devoted to him already.

How dit it go with the home comming of Chaos...??

Here are some news... Chaos's introduction went fine, the only problem being that Onyx is a bit too playful or perhaps a little dominant and keeps jumping on Chaos and bites his neck. Chaos tries to fight back but he's not as big and also not totally fit (I'll explain that later) so he yowls very loudly , but no harm done, it's just a bit stressful for me, and my boyfriend who keeps thinking about the neighbours... But now it's a bit better, Onyx leaves him alone a little more .

But there's something I noticed right away on his arrival that I didn't see last week (maybe I wasn't observant enough, there were quite a few kittens running around !) : he's got some difficiculties walking, his hind legs seem "feeble", he falls when he run or play.
It was worrying me a bit, and then my boyfriend told me he seemed hot... so I took his temperature today and he's got fever (40°C, the normal temperature for a cat being 38-38,5°C) .

So we're thinking about infections that can play on his muscles or nervous sytem, and there's feline infectious peritonitis in its dry form (I hope it's not that...) but also toxoplasmosis which can affect both muscles and nervous system. So he's getting anti inflammatories (in case of a meningitis) and antibiotics (for toxoplasmosis or any other infection we didn't think of) from today, and I hope he'll get better.

That doesn't mean he isn't a very cute, very playful and very lovable little boy...
