I agree with Toastie
. Your cat looks just like Onyx, the moggie brown spotted tabby in my signature, who's not part Bengal at all (in France, not a lot of Bengals running wild
so even if he WAS born some 60km from Chaos' breeder, as her stud is kept in an enclosure, that isn't a likely coincidence
; also, the person who gave it to me told me the father was likely to be a big white cat), but happens to be more Bengal like in caracter than Chaos
(talkative, likes water, playful, affectionate when he likes to (eg in the morning at 6 o'clock
), jumps, etc...).
Bella is still very beautiful
.
Last thing, if dogs are very easy to recognise as "part breed" as there are virtually no "moggie dogs" (meaning, a dog that has no traits selected by humans in order to fix a breed, dogs and breeds are a very old thing : sheepherd dogs, retriever dogs, hunting dogs and so on), the same does not apply for cats as cats' breed are more recent (beginning of the 20th century, end of the 19th for the more ancient) and people had cats without bothering to select some traits, and that's why moggies are so varied in colour, pattern and shape...
(depending of the part of the world you find them, the climate selecting some, like big long haired cats in Scandinavia that are the ancestors of the Norvegian cat, sleek big eared cats in North Africa that were used for Orientals and so on).
For eg., wild cats in North Africa :
(sorry photo isn't very good but you can still notice the big ears)
