my cat is now 3 years old everything has been really cool until this morning, we had a knock on the door and it was a new neighbour a french woman who owns a persian, she began by notifying my sister that our cat has injured her persian numerous amounts of times and has the audacity to enter their house to eat their cats food and then URINATES on her carpet, my sister tried explaining that this sort of behavior does not sound like our cat, the lady was not intereseted she went on to say that other neighbours are also complaing, our cat is often bullied as their are some seriously large cats in our neighbourhood, when i tried talking to her she said that next time she will launch at our cat with a bat and slammed the door in my face. iam now pretty concerned, any advice?

personally i would keep your cat in and then that way if she complains again you can say that it isnt your cat as it hasnt been out and as for the baseball bat lol sorry but she would have one back lol

There is a law against cruelty to cats in this country, it states that a cat is owned by no-one and is entitled to roam as it wishes without any harm directed towards it....Fact!

I'll try and dig it out you, it has been mentioned on here before so maybe a search of the forum might bring it to the surface.....However as Tracey says you'd be much safer keeping your cat indoors and maybe making an enclosure for him to get some fresh air.

If it goes any further or you get any more confrontations with your neighbour I would definately report her comment to the RSPCA and the police requesting that its logged somewhere just in case something happens to your cat.

Personally though I don't think I could, would or should control myself if someone threatened any of my cats with a bat, they'd feel my wrath very swiftly.....make no mistake!

Also it might be worth asking the other surrounding neighbours thats she has mentioned for their comments just to see how thing lie with them, she might just be adding their names in without their knowledge....Atleast you'd know for sure how everyone felt about your local cat population and maybe some measures could be taken to help or ease the situation between you all before it escalates any further.

Sorry to hear about this. Some people you wonder how they have pets themselves. My advice is give the proper authorities a heads up so if something does happen a treat has been reported and maybe train your cat on a lead. So sad that you and your cat have to become prisoners but better be safe then sorry wish you the best of luck
