how to take a bengal out for walk?

Here is my Tigs walking on his leash. Now it is only round our garden at the minute which is big enough for him to explore at the minute.

We live well out in the country, on a very small lane, with one house opposite and then the next nearest on is about half a mile away. We get very little traffic and the nearest town is 10 miles away!!

I am currently working on getting an outdoor enclosure built. Although our garden is cat paradise with lots of trees, bushes and half an acres to explore it is not cat proof and by design never could be. Even with no traffic etc there are dangers, ie foxes, dogs, the lake, any cars that occasionally do come around, not to mention animal traps/poison illegally placed etc.

He is still getting used to having the leash put on which can be fiddly, when he is older I am definitely getting him a happy house walking jacket as they are fab!! But once on the leash he loves bounding around and it doesn't bother him at all.

I have seen and had to rehome way too many lost and injured cats and spoken to many people who cats have just vanished even out this far in the country. I couldn't deal with the heartache knowing I could of kept him safe, and he will love the enclosure I have planned as much as he loves his walks.

Each to their own, my Nan had a cat in the centre of London who roamed no problems and lived till 16!! But it is just not for me.

Aw Sarah love the pics of Tigs, that is the harness i used, for a couple of months, well i used it for about 5 months then it was too small, i now use Louise's jackets and i love them, i use them in the car too with a seat belt plug in as i dont put my cats in carriers unless its for a vet visit....
