Our male Bengal just turned 6 months last week and weighed in at 11.8 lbs. He's very lean and muscular with the vet agreeing he's quite large for his age. Just curious if anyone else had a Bengal of this size as his age and to get some perspective of what is size could be at 1 year.

Welcome to our forum. Each bengal is different. I know an owner who has a male that weighs 22 pounds. Mine weighs almost 15 pounds. There is a gorgeous stud somewhere that tops out at about 30 pounds. The average for a male is about 12 to 15 pounds. Mine went to the vet yesterday and she said he was getting a little "chunky." He is on medication that probably caused that. Bengals are long and lean and if he doesn't have any "sides" popping out, he's probably okay.

Large males can usually hit 10 lbs at 6 mths. Mine is only about 8 lbs at 6 mths and now at 14.5 lbs at 1.5 yrs.

If yours is weighing 11+ lbs at a mere 6 mths, he could potentially reach 20 lbs at 1 yr. Just need to make sure he weight comes from muscle and leanness rather than fat.

IMO, its always a blessing to have a huge male Bengal as long as he is healthy. I'm looking forward to breeders who can create a healthy huge Bengal to rival a Maine Coon. The current largest Maine Coon measures 120cm from nose to tail and weighs 30 lbs or 14 kg.

Unfortunately, mine has "sides" popping out but he has gone from 9.49 pounds to over 15 pounds on prednisone. We have lowered the dosage and I hope that helps a little. His usual weight is 12.8 pounds. We do take two walks a day (about 10 blocks each time) and he gets on his cat wheel a couple times a day, so he gets the exercise. I could not imagine Raiden weighing 20 pounds or so. But I see gorgeous males that are muscular and big bengals.

Thanks Chris for the info last month. Vet says he's not overweight for his build. Very muscular and lean.

Did a weigh in on him this month marking month 7. He is now at 13.2 LBS. So a 1.5 lbs gain over the past month. He is measuring 98 CM from the tips of his paws when stretched out.

Based on these gains it looks like you're probably right that he could hit the 20 lbs mark by one year. If he progress at this pace be will be on track for 20.7 lbs ish at the one year mark.

How much more development have you guys seen with growth between the 1 year and 18 months - 2 year mark?

Looks like we are going to have the big cat we were hoping for! Cheers.

Sounds like you have a BIG boy on your hands. I scope the bengal pictures and I have seen such gorgeous big studs. Very large face and body. They are just beautiful. Hope you will post some pictures on the Gallery section of your baby.
