Both boys were neutered.
In fact the one that marked, Jelli-Roll, was neutered at 6 months and Jazzi was over 7 months old when we had him done.
We bought Jelli-Roll when he was just over 8 weeks old and the breeder, Esmond Gay, wanted us to take him asap so we got him when he was 9 weeks old.
My partner is convinced we took him too early from his mother. Although he had the typical bengal temperament- cheeky as a barrel load of monkeys- he was never as confident as the other two. You could set a bomb off next to them and they wouldn’t care. And they thought that everyone loved them.
Jelli-Roll was always much more cautious , a bit of a coward – unless food was involved – didn’t like strangers, loud noises etc. Maybe he was living up to his name
Based on this we have a theory about bengal types.
Jelli-Roll was the wiry, pointed faced, smaller ‘wilder’ type of bengal.
The other two were the broader faced, bigger body type bengal.
All three were very gentle and affectionate but Jelli-Roll was more of a lap cat and more sensitive than the others..
We wonder if this type of bengal is more likely to spray.
