I can provide some news. We visited Axhayes the weekend before Christmas to see the Bengals, passed a CPL home inspection last Sunday and so hot footed it down to Exeter to collect Serge and Adora Bubble and bring them back to their new home. I understand from the CPL ladies that Marley and Marmaduke are also spoken for; of the others Rocky was in fine voice and Bonzo was also a particularly happy chap! Note that CPL told us the cats could not be rehomed before 31st December and have not advertised them on their website as yet so I am sure they will soon all be rehomed. In the meantime the CPL seem to be doing a great job.

Our two are settling in slowly but surely. Dora is a pretty Bengal / Siamese cross and a real softy already, a right fusspot. She is a little wary of noises etc. but coming along nicely. Serge is more timid but hopefully his sister(?) will encourage him and it is still early days. They are eating loads and using the litter tray - no accidents to report so far! They have already sussed out how to open the bin in the kitchen. Will keep them indoors for a couple of weeks and then introduce them to the neighbourhood. We live in the countryside outside Dorchester so they will have lots of room to explore and will not lack for love and attention from me and my Bengal crazy family.

Hi Gary, wonderful update, thank you. I hope that you will be very happy with Adora & Serge - thanks also for adopting them, they sound like they've 'landed on their feet'.

Adora Bubble is a Bengal/Siamese but if Serge is the one that I knew as 'Sarge' then he's a pure Bengal - but I'd have to see his photo to be sure. I'm wondering if he is someone else, as the Sarge I knew was quite a confident kitty - a bit of a tomboy, he liked a fuss but only insisted on lap-sitting once a week (though that could've been because there wasn't room). Adora, however, insisted on daily lap-sitting & affection & I'm sure is looking forward to being adored in a home where she is not competing which quite so many others!

If Serge is who I think he is then this is a photo of him with two of his litter siblings.

thanks for that, can i just say though that there is no cause for concern re the outdoor stipulation, outdoor homes can be very safe for cats, they are stipulating this so the cats can have the best possible lives, i know from experience that they are very thorough when it comes to home checks, based on the individuals, ages, breed, history and circumstances.

the press interest has not neccessarily been a good thing, attracting some undesirable sorts wanting these 'rare' cats 'cheap' and there are a lot of calls from idiots wanting them.

they are all doing well and i am positive they will all get excellent, safe and loving forever homes.

Well, my husband and I called to offer a home to some of the cats and got no response. We have knowledge of the breed and adore Bengals. We own a 200 acre farm next to Clovelly, with acres of organic woodland and pasture. We got no response, so are now happily paying ££££'s to a breeder. I hope we are not some of the idiots being referred to here. There is an awful lot of elitism sometimes involved. The environment here would have been perfect., I wonder what kind of homes the CPL are looking for??!! [/quote]

What a shame! Sounds like the CPL missed a good opportunity to rehome there. So when does your new kitten arrive? oh and welcome.

unfortunately CP is run by unpaid volenteers - if the cats made the media they were probably over run by calls and emails and so unfortunately perfect homes will get missed in the rush
