Those of you who have followed my thread in Behaviour will know about the terrible couple of weeks that I and my darling boy have had. My fiancee walked out on us, leaving two very traumatised boys.

Things were starting to get better with my bengal, Templeton, but as I'm a student working two jobs, I am out of the house from 7 AM to 10 PM, and when I come home I spend my time studying. Like any self-respecting bengal, Templeton needs love, attention, and play. With me out of the house so much, and nobody else to play with him or love him, he is really unhappy. He needs a better home than I, as a now single student with two jobs and a lot of moving in my future, can offer him.

Templeton LOVES people, is very sociable with everyone, and has loads of energy. His breeder had loads of children around, and Templeton always seemed quite happy to play with them. He hasn't met other animals since he left the breeder, so I don't know how he would do with them. He's had no health problems of any kind, and all his paperwork/ vaccinations/ microchipping is in order. He has been a mostly indoor cat, but I often took him out on a lead into the garden at my old flat. He loved sitting in the sunshine and keeping an eye on the world.

I am in London, but will go anywhere and do anything to find my Templeton a proper home.

Please, only serious homes who can give my darling the love he deserves.

Sorry to hear about this, I am sure it was a hard decision.

Have you spoken to his breeder?
I am sure they would want to know if you are thinking of rehoming him. They may be able to help..

I've spent the last two hours crying, but know I can't care for him the way he needs.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll call the breeders tomorrow. They were so lovely...I hope they don't hate me

Sorry for everything you've been through that has eventually led you to this decision but you've given it lots of thought and are doing the responsible thing. I don't think anyone could criticise you for it. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you and Templeton.

Please don't think your breeder will hate you! You are only thinking of Templeton & making a big sacrifice to yourself by making this decision for him, especially after your recent experience.
Well done you & I hope your breeder can help you find him a fantastic home. xx

Thank you all so much. This community has been wonderfully supportive. If you know someone who would like a friendly, loving and affectionate bengal with a penchant for curling up on shoulders and under blankets with you, please let me know.

Hi I have just read your post and am so sorry for your horrible situation. My husband of 15 years walked out on me and my two children last year so I know how you are feeling x On the subject of Templeton, well I am looking for a bengal and have been looking at rehoming one who is in need so maybe u would like to contact me when you are next in. I will be on here tonight if thats any help. The only thing I will say is that I have spoken to Tamsin first this morning as she is looking for a loving home for her bengal so I will need to speak to her first before I can have any major discussion with you. I am 41 and live with my two children who are 7 and 15 and both love cats. I have been around/owned cats all my life but dont have one at the moment. I have not owned a bengal before but I have been reading about them for months so do know what to expect :-). Take care x and I will try to talk to you tonight x

That sounds like an ideal home for Templeton. Having lots of people around will be wonderful for him, and he will enjoy playing with your kids (especially with cat ticklers and such).

Of course you should talk to Tamsin first. If that doesn't work out, please let me know.

Hi thanx for your reply. I will hopefully be talking to Tamsin tonight if poss so will let you know as soon as I can if we r still looking. He sounds like he does need a nice stable, loving home (not that I mean you are doing anything wrong! You are obviously doing all you can to help him to get over this stressful situation and I admire you for being so kind and patient with him, its obvious you genuinely care about him). I only work part time 2 days a week so am around much of the time and on the two days I do work my eldest is often here for a few hours after school before she sees her dad so he wouldnt be on his own for too long. He sounds lovely and I will do my best to let you know as soon as possible x
