Hi all,
My 2 yr old Bengal male Zinzan has recently lost his mate to traffic and is pining terribly. We are now keeping him as an indoor cat but as he is largely nocturnal we let him into the garden for a few hours at night (otherwise he yowls the place down!). We have a roof terrace that we let him use as an outdoor space at other times, and he is happy to stay indoors during the day. We are looking for an adult m/f who would not fight with him as he is not a feisty or dominant cat and would not know how to cope with aggression. From our point of view: we love happy, outgoing characters who let themselves be picked up and carried around like a baby by our three children! Please let me know if there's anyone out there who fits the bill. Thanks. Jane. We are based in Amersham, Bucks.

It may be easier to introduce a kitten to the mix rather than an adult cat. Adult cats tend to take quite a while to get used to each other & to bond.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for this advice. Having been through various cat introductions, I'm used to the hissing and growling and general posturing that happens at the start of things. So I'm not holding out high expectations for early success and know that they can't just be thrown together. Zinzan is likely to perceive the newcomer as a threat but this would also be the case with a kitten. Plus the kitten would probably jump on him and engage in generally kitten like behaviour which he didn't like much last time around and probably wouldn't appreciate any more now! Anyway thanks for your advice which is gratefully appreciated - we have now found a young (one year old) cat who will be joining us in August.
