Hi there, just wanted to see if any cats are homeless and in need before looking into buying a cat as we have always rescued our animals as much as possible.
Little bit about us, we have just lost our 13 year old cat, she was literaly my shadow for 13 whole years and has left a big hole in our lives, and the house just doesnt feel the same without her, she unfortunately developed cancer and we watched go from a beatifull full of life cat to a mere shadow of herself, she wouldnt eat, tried literaly everything, the cancer spread and nothiong could be done.
We also lost one of our other cats at the beginning of the year to suspected poisoning, but the vets couldnt really tell exactly what was wrong, she had multiple organ failures, she was around 11 years old.
This has left us with our one remaining cat, who is really lovely, but incredibly nervous, and she wont come downstairs other than to go out to the loo when our daughter of 3 is around, she will come down and have fuss and love when shes in bed, but anyone other than my wife or me and shes upstairs or outside.
So idealy looking for a young cat if possible, the younger the better really as I feel it makes getting them used to existing animals alot easier, more than happy to take on multiple cats if they have a friend, this isnt a problem.
I run my own business from home, so I am pretty much always here, we have two children, one of 3 and a baby of of 5 months old, so alot going on all the time and think a bengal would fit into our little mad house perfectly.
As I said at the start would like to rescue a cat if at all possible, prefer to give an animal in need a home, but if this isnt possible will start to look around at breeders.
Havnt told my wife I am doing this, I would idealy like to surprise her for christmas as we have had a bad year really.
Thanks for reading, and sorry for the long post.
