Hi
I wonder if anyone could help me with a problem?
My friend has a problem with her Norwegian Forest cat and as tried everywhere so i said i would ask you lot.
She has a 7mth old female that hasnt been spayed and she keeps urinating everywhere, especially around the toilet or the water bowl. She had her to the vets and a urine sample was taken and the vet said she had a cystitas and gave her antibiotics. A week after finishing the course, she is still urinating. Is she laying her scent or is she just a dirty cat?
She would really appreciate any help.

Thanks all

Hi

You need to exclude the possiblity the she doesn't still have the cystitis.
The antibiotic used may not have been the correct one to cure the infection. Different bugs can need different antibiotics or a longer course.

Another urine sample is required to make sure she has no lingering infection/other urinary problem.

Only if she is clear of infection can you then speculate regarding other hormonal/behavoural issues.

Regards

Elsa
