Today I was fussing my friend's cat (Zimba, a long haired tabby) who has 6 toes on each paw, front and back. His feet are huge.

I wish I'd took a picture. One of our neighbourhood cats has this too.

Do Bengals ever get this?

I helped them out by giving him a manicure. 10 year old Zimba was my friend's Mum's cat but she moved to Canada. This left Zimba with my friend (who is allergic to cats and goes blotchy) and his girlfriend (who is a bit nervous of cats). They take him to the vets to clip his claws.

He was so relaxed on my knee I asked Abby to pass me some nail clippers and managed to clip all 12 front claws! I think I'm now booked for monthly cat manicures (especially as their getting a new leather couch soon).

it can happen in any cat but is considered a fault, so if a kitten were born like it they could only be a pet.

I had one as a kid (not a bengal, to clarify, just a moggie)! Had 6 on each front paw, 5 on each rear. I love 6 toed cats!

Bengals make up for it by having webbed toes though

The gene coding for this is dominant (well, one of them, there's another one but linked to a disease so not wanted at all) so no real chance to get polydactyl purebred Bengals .

Some Maine Coon have those but still considered a fault although some breeders would like it to be recognized as a breed trait I think.

I think Pixie Bobs are another breed where it's "acceptable" to have 6 or more toes.
