Hi Jim

Okay, I know you love shelly as much as me but as Shelly's 1st mummy I know what she is like... She can be a bit grumpy if she wants too.

I do prefer my retires to be single cats because they rarely take well to new buddies. I know I did mention that she may get on with a kitten (unfortunately she didn't) I really am doubtful that she'll get on well with an adult and an ex-stud might still spray around females...

If you do take on another retiree I really do hope it works but after all Shelly's your 1st kitty and she is happy as a single cat because if she wasn't she would have got along with Harry...

Please don't think I am ganging up on you, I am not i am just thinking of you and Shelly

Do Savannahs get on with Bengals?

Yes they Do Jacky at Purbliss has rehomed a savannah to a house that already had a bengal with no worries at all.

the only advice I could offer is...if you decide to go for it, give it a good few months to see if they both settle, it was hard with Zeus at first when we adopted him, he hissed and spat and even attacked us, aswell as the kittens. We have had him 9 weeks now and with the help of one bottle of feliway he is as loving as the rest of the cats. We nearly caved even after 3 weeks but even though we felt frustrated and really anxious for him we kept persevering and it all worked out in the end.

Jim had Harry for months Michelle, I dont think its a case of whether Bengals get on with Savannahs its a case of if Shelly will get on with any other cat whatever the breed.

The Savannah that Jacky rehomed was actually with 2 Bengals (I have met both of them) and they are both laid back cats where as Shelly obviously isnt - its okay to say "give it a go" but I dont think that is fair on the second cat being unsettled and rehomed only to be rehomed again or on Shelly.

I really dont understand why you think things will be better with another cat than they were with Harry? He is an adorable sweetheart and a total cuddle bum. I have been lucky introducing new cats and if I had felt any doubts at all I would never have given Harry a home with us because it just wouldnt have been fair to him or my other cats.

Well I returned to Jacky's at Purebliss yesterday to see this little mite, She'll be coming home to see me in about 3 weeks.

She is lovely, but she looks very Bengal in her face.

I have been enquiring after a Savannah and was quoted £1000 for an F4 from one breeder who says that their savannahs were pure Savannah to Savannah matings. Another breeder qouted me £350 for an F4 and the dad looked very bengal like to me. I just don't understand the price difference for an F4 The breeder who qouted me £1000 for an F4 said that they always breed to stay away from the Bengal look.

I don't want to pay £350 for a Savannah that looks like a Bengal because i'd rather just buy a proper Bengal. Savannahs are supposed to have longer faces, no round eyes and no rosettes but some do that I've seen on some websites.

The Savannah I'm getting is a SBT, As you now its a very new breed, I think in time more people will breed them. And choices will widen.

For me the differences in personality are huge, As well as body structure & face structure. Remember mine is only 5 months old so expect a more detailed picture diary in time as she develops.

It's just that the F4 savannah that I was qouted at £350 looks like a Bengal with a wide face and round eyes, but on another website the F4 that was £1000 looked wild like with a long face and oval eyes..
