Ok, maybe you can help, Stu has major allergies to Mitzy and Daisy, he is already taking strong Anti-histamines from the doctor, he doesnt sneeze but his eyes are all itchy and runny, only since the kitties come to us. We thought he may have been ok because Bengal has pelt and not the usual fur,

Any suggestions if there are eye drops that may help?

Does anyone else suffer the same?

i don't have allergies to the cats but on another group i'm a member of, people have been talking of this recently.
it seems finding the right inhaler or combination of inhalers could be the key. also there is a product called petal cleanse he could try, i don't know much about it but it's worth googling.
also, a lot of the time people are actually allergic to the saliva from a cat washing itself, rather than the actual coat or pelt. you could try wiping the cats down with a damp cloth or damp marigold gloves once or twice a day to cut down the saliva particles in the coat.
i hope you find something that works.

as said above, most people i think are allergic to the saliva, so wiping the cats down would probably help

Ant is allergic to cats, but hes alright to a degree with the bengal. if hes having a bad day he avoids the cat when its washing, and avoids any flying fur!

they do usually dissipate, but in some cases ive known them get more severe in prolonged contact. my old mog Smartie caused Ant to be rushed to hospital a few times but Khan is fine, gives him the sniffles every week or so

Not sure if the girls have been neutered or not however our vet agrees that neutering can help with allergies as once the hormones settle the amount of 'dander' being released reduces.

We advised this to one of our bengal customers who was having a similar issue and neutering combined with some of the other things already mentioned does seem to be working....never quite know which one or combination it was of course!

I'm allergic to cats too, but I found that it is manageable if I wash my hands straightaway after I touch the cat. My allergic reaction always comes if I touch my face when I haven't washed my hands, and the allergens get in my eyes and it's horrible.

I hope your husband feels better quickly soon! I have heard of people having desensitisation at allergy clinics, but I'm not sure how it works. It has something to do with increasing your tolerance gradually.

Hmm my daughter said her eyes were watering when we visited Oscar I hope she isn't allergic to them, i'd have to find her a new home otherwise
