I recently finished Jackson Galaxy's new book: "Total Cat Mojo" (I listened to the "audible" version). I liked it, it's an interesting book, but kind of all over the place in terms of content. It talks about a lot of things including diet, providing a good environment, getting cats to get along with other pets, and then lots of "problem solving" of specific problems like litterbox problems, health problems and lots more.

At it's core, I think the concept that sort of binds it all together is his idea of "mojo". His idea is sort of that there are certain things that tend to harm a cat's general happiness and sense of contentment and well-being, and conversely things that help as well, and that many "problem behaviors" can be solved by keeping this in mind.

There's some fun stuff in there, like his categorizing cats into "mojito", "wallflower" and "Napoleon" cats, and describing the characteristics of each. I think I have 2 wallflowers (Gaga and Neytiri) and one Napolean cat (Serafina) according to him No "mojito" cats, but I have had those in the past. My guess is that bengal cats tend not to be "Mojitos"

It's a good book, I recommend it. Some stuff in it I consider "filler" (like the "history of cats" stuff), but there's lots of good stuff in there too. I think the biggest disappointment in the audible version was that he didn't narrate it himself (like he did in "Cat Daddy"), but the narrator was decent.

I get emails from Jackson and somehow I don't recall seeing anything about this book. But I do skip over a lot of stuff. I have his other books on Catification and his "Cat Daddy" so I will look for this one as well. (You didn't spoil the ending, did you? LOL). I still have all the last season's episodes of My Cat From Hell to watch. If only the hubby wanted to watch them. Raiden loves to hear the cat's crying. He sits up and looks all around.

Just downloaded as my Napoleon (Jagger) is spraying indoors right now due to a new cat that is causing us bother outside and trying to find a solution... he sprayed our blinds last night from the back of the sofa whilst we were sat on it

Hendrix is a Wallflower - he can definitely be a victim as we do feel sorry for him regularly and avoids confrontation at all costs with anyone or any cat he doesn't know. He will happily give Jagger a bash but gets upset if its given back to him a hundred fold by Jagger.

Have no idea how to sort the issue with this 'new' cat out - it seems pretty feral and I think un-neutered so I may need to get it scanned to see if its chipped or not. It broke into our conservatory a month or so ago and sprayed all over their stuff and I had to throw it all out, keeps spraying their cat flap and strolled up to a car Jagger was under on our drive and pretty much sprayed him in the face last week. In front of both me and Jon - it literally couldn't have cared less that we were there.

It is really pestering them and around every day spraying the house and garden causing Jagger anxiety and stress. And me a lot of cleaning inside and out!!!

Hendrix on the other hand is pretty oblivious or will run indoors to avoid confrontation!!

Oh for two wallflowers!!!

Gads, Clare. If it isn't a fox, it's another cat. Why you? Aren't you asking that? If only you could keep these other animals away from your property! Motion-sensor sprayers may help or air canisters -- I can't imagine the other cat spraying and damaging things your kitties use! What a little monster. If this other cat isn't neutered, he probably isn't microchipped. Post him as "found" on any facebook pages and see if an owner pops forward. Once again, the ONLY way to keep these creatures out is to get some type of Purrfect Fence or roller system that will keep them from climbing over and then you have to reinforce the bottom to keep them from digging under. I really feel for you going through this. Hope Jon is doing well.

I know, you have to laugh! Having said that, I haven't seen the cat for a couple of days now. Maybe Jagger has made it clear it isn't welcome I have cameras dotted around outside now as I didn't know what was causing Jagger to spray indoors when he'd never done that before. And now I know!!!

I was a bit shocked when I realised the cat had come in the house - I heard something jump on the bins and then saw it running along the back of our garden. Then I noticed all the pee in the conservatory and went into overdrive to clean it all up before Jagger came back in and realised his territory had been violated! Hendrix was home but had been with me in the bathroom and I could see from their pod trackers that Jagger hadn't been in the vicinity when it happened. Fortunately Hendrix is a much more laid back cat than Jagger - he knew about the pee but had a sniff and just wandered off in his completely oblivious way!!

Jon is okay, starting to feel it all a bit now though I think. He's good at hiding it but has started to say how tired he is etc. Hopefully some action will be taken soon.
