Hey everybody,

I was wondering, do any of you guys go on adventures with your bengal?
And if so, what age did you start with the adventures and maybe what age would you recommend?

Our first adventure with Quasar was bringing him home from the breeder at 13 weeks of age. It was a 6 hour drive!

We have taken him to hot air balloon festivals, up IN a balloon, camping, and on multiple road trips. His first balloon event was about 4 weeks after we picked him up. His first camping expedition was about 2 weeks after that. He didn't go for his first hot air balloon ride until he was a year old.

Basically, Quasar goes with us wherever we go. He stretches out on the back seat of the truck alongside our Samoyed, Kyenta, while we are driving. He makes every hotel room his new home. The house trailer we purchased last summer is now just like a second home.

You can have lots of adventure with your kitty. I do think that the earlier you start, the better. IMHO, cats have difficulty with changes in routine. Our boy has learned that nothing is truly unexpected.

Quasar is a very unique and lucky kitty to go everywhere. Stravyn is another bengal who goes everywhere with his owner, Scott. My Raiden's adventures are to the vet and daily walks around the neighborhood and that is it. Mainly because he is a handful and always on the move. He does not settle down easily. I think if you start the adventures when the bengal is a kitten, things go better. I got my bengal when he was six years old.

i plan on taking her everywhere, even internationally. After three days at home i put a harness on her today and she didn't seem to have an issue with it whatsoever but she refuses to walk on the leash, but to be fair, we're three days into our relationship and it's already going so great, im sure we will have it figured out in no time.

Do not try to rush your baby! It takes time!!!!! The thing is to simply allow her to wear the harness around the house and get used to it. The outdoors can be very intimidating to a kitten and usually we don't recommend starting them out immediately on a harness and leash. However .. the earlier, the better, especially if you plan to tote her around with you everywhere you go. Make sure you know the laws in bringing hybrids into a new country if you are traveling. Make sure she is microchipped. Make sure she wears a collar with your name and phone number on it. Toting her around -- make sure you have something to contain her at times -- a soft carrier will do. Stravyn has a stroller and he just goes everywhere. Even flies on planes to see his grandma. It can be done!

But ..... IF your little gal appears to NOT want to walk on a harness and leash and does NOT want to travel quietly and comfortably -- PLEASE do not force her. I do believe you will get her to walk on a harness and leash, but traveling is a big issue for cats and not all cats are cut out for it. Noises can frighten cats and they can get out of a harness and are then on the run.

All the time, walks in the woods, ponds, parks, usually twice a week, they also go out in their capacity as Comforting Cats to a dementia care home and a special needs school, as well as country shows, dogs show/events like Paws in the Park, and Paws on Patrol etc.

XplosiV, it is so wonderful that your kitties are well socialized and can be placed in any situation. Bengals are an adventure on their own, I think. Mine gets two walks a day -- morning and afternoon and every one is an adventure, especially for him.

Four cats at once? I have the bengal on a leash and another cat that follows us on our walk. I couldn't handle two on a leash! Raiden gets tangled up in shrubs, around trees -- he tries to go through spaces I can't fit through! Oh, it's comical! I can only imagine FOUR of them.
