has anyone heard of the Ashera cat?

Seems to basically be an early cross breed of the savannah and bengal (they claim to be serval, asian leopard cat and domestic), for the bargain price (?!?!) ranging between $22,000 and $125,000 USD

to be honest, I think my pet quality bengal has far more startling markings... Am wondering why these cats are worth so much - any clues anyone?

might toddle off to do a little more googling!

it seems like a con...you don't get a pedigree with them, no details of ancestry...could be anything thrown into the mix.

There's a lot of controversy about these cats and allegations that they are a scam and actually F1 Savannah cats sold under a fancy trademarked name.

Hi

I suppose if they are true Savannahs they will have a stricter code of practice eg for outcrossing

Quote:
The domestic out-crosses for the Savannah breed that are permissible in The International Cat Association (TICA) are the Egyptian Mau, the Ocicat, the Oriental Shorthair, and the Domestic Shorthair.

If you call them a new breed then you can add what you like, Bengals (pattern), Mainecoons (size). etc.

You may even get Munchkin Savannahs or Sphynx Savannahs.

The real goal is to get the same cat but hypo allergenic - and sell it at an even higher price

Rubbish...
