There's been some discussion about kicker toys recently, and it just so happens that I ordered some for my cats recently, which arrived today!

This was the scene 1 minute after opening the package:

I think they both pass the test! In case anyone was wondering, I got them here:

And I ordered a valerian one from here (that is still in transit - because it's coming from Germany!).

Whoa! supersized Kickers!
We have smaller cheapo Kong Kickeroos so may think about the bigger ones for their b'day... only if they behave though (they've been using each other as kickeroo and punching bag throughout the night, what a horror). I am very surprised at how much these toys last given the amounts of Bengal hugs of death they get

This is Raiden's favorite from the Jackson Galaxy collection. He beats the crap out of it and it's still holding up great. You can see he prefers that over Da Bird.

Heh, I did a pretty extensive search to find the largest, most durable looking ones that I could find...even though my cats are all pretty small and Neytiri is tiny! But in the end with these I'm thinking: "damn, if only I could find some that were a little bigger" The ones that I got from happy house cats were bigger than these. That's always the case right? You buy something to try, and if it turns out really really well it will inevitably be gone when you are ready to re-order!

It is a real shame that Happy Housecats is no longer making kicker toys - I had a number of them and they were, indeed are, really good.

Awwe. Brian, it must be so great when you pull a toy out of the packaging and they play with it immediately. That happened with my Cat Ball, Miko just loves it.

And I got a large and small kong kickeroo but Miko barely ever shows interest in hurting those two toys. Only when hes in a really violent state (from attacking a different toy) and then I need to throw the kickeroo into Miko's claws and he may or may not start trying to rip it apart lol. Otherwise, they are just pretty cuddle toys lol.

I fashioned my own kicker toy for the time being so that I can get his hunting/prey aggression out easily. Most of the da bird and other wands, they really make Miko run and probably expend a lot of energy, but nothing beats a kicker-type toy if you want to get that biting and scratching out of his system.

I just bought a cheap mouse wand from Petsmart, and when it ripped, I just tied a seperate catnip mouse to the end, so now theres two mice on one wand. He usually bites the grey one and shreds the white one with his feet. Here's a video from today :)

Matt, Miko certainly looks like a healthy, normal bengal! It's awesome that he enjoys playing. Mine does not! I don't think his previous owner EVER played with him.

I received 2 SammyMerlin valerian kickers yesterday.

They were in my work bag, made a cuppa on getting home last night and found Ada with her nose in my work bag.

Anyway, last night the kickers got a good.... kicking, licking, wrestling and pouncing.

I can say that they are definitely Bengal Certified.

:-)

Thanks Brian. I ordered one and will see it it stands up to Grace's chompers. Those scratchers looked great and I was going to order one but $20 shipping on a $40 order sounds like a lot. I love Etsy but shipping can be high if it is not a small, light weight item.

I received the jumbo denim covered kicker with a catnip pocket on the side from Etsy last week. It is now their new favorite toy!

I may have to invest in more kicker toys. Raiden has two but really only uses the TNR buddy. Of course, with him, anything new is his favorite thing -- for about 20 seconds. LOL

I decided to try the sammy merlin ones that cranberry mentioned. They arrived today and the boys had a fab time with them and didn't even have a fight when they were high on valerian - yay! However the kickers absolutely stink so I've put them away again for now....!

Do I want my Raiden high on valerian??? It's supposed to be a calming herb that helps you sleep!

Go on Sherry - Raiden will love a good drug-induced zoom.
