Okay, I know this sounds dorky, but when I feed my cats, I have a little cart where I put their food and water and slowly wheel it towards the feeding spot. Of course they are all over me so while doing this, so I sing them a little song to go with the nummie-num train I am pushing: Here comes the nummie-num train, WOOO-WOO (repeated several times until we arrive at the spot) First stop: VENISONVILLE! Second stop: WATERTOWN! I put the food and water down and give them a little pat and let them chow down.

Well on the weekends, I often feed them their plate of crunchies a couple of hours later than during the week as I am at home and they get their wet food first thing in the morning. Well they know the crunchies have not arrived and they want to make sure I haven't forgotten so they start circling me. Blondie pushes everything off my coffee table, and Grace starts making this sound: OOOOO OOOOO I finally realized she is calling for the nummie-num train!!

That is just hilarious. I am so glad it's not just me that talks and sings to cats in ridiculous voices

Jill, that is so cute! Cats can make so many different sounds. You've just got to capture a video of this.

It's a pretty crazy train...thank god my cat's don't seem to judge me. They love rituals that involve singing, and of course food. I gave them some sliced turkey from my lunch now they turn inside out when I have sliced turkey, and they are becoming less interested in their canned food that was just fine before they tasted my food.

I sing to some of our cats. Diesel gets "Diesel baby" to the tune of Santa Baby all the time

Haha. It's actually hard to drive the train and hold a camera. Especially since Blondie has learned to hop aboard the train and get a head start on the nummie nums! It is turning into a bit of a circus!

I can't even get a picture of Raiden. As soon as I take out my phone, he's gone. Forget videos!

I haven't noticed my cats imitating me or my wife, but they do imitate or "borrow" from each other. Our oldest cat took on the meowing characteristics of another cat we used to have before it ran away; I don't know why it wasn't satisfied with his own meowing! Our third cat, on the other hand, has taken to stretching out on the floor, fully extended, like the oldest cat does, and for the same reason: she wants to have her tummy rubbed! It is interesting to see how they obviously observe each other's behaviors and pick and choose from the ones they like the most.
