Has anyone heard of this new cat litter called Pretty Litter? The cat's urine changes the litter color to alert you of potential health problems with your cat.

It is $20 per 3 pound bag and the litter is very light weight.

Sounds interesting -- but I would hate for owners to rely on this -- and I wonder what happens if the color changes and there is nothing wrong with the cat. You take your cat to the vet and they can't find anything wrong? This is something I might try once .....

I tend to stick with the litter I am happy with, I have tested many litters to get to one that suits me and the cats.

I use okoplus cats best, it's 100% organic so I can take out solids and the rest can be composted.

There is no dust at all plus it has a nice smell of woody sawdust, the only downside is that it tracks quite a bit.

I got sucked in and started to order the buy 3 get one free ($66). Then I said wait, what am I doing $66 for cat litter?! And I decided to wait. I like that it is so light, but how much volume goes into the bag? My cats use two big litter boxes and if one bag only fills two boxes then that's $22 for one week. Now that they have my email they keep sending me discounts. Also what if the cat's don't like it?

Hi Clare,
I am looking into this. It's $77 for 15 kg (about 33 pounds)? Does that sound right? The one I am using is only $15 but it is clay and not good for the environment.

The other thing is if you have multiple cats, which one has the medical issue???? I watched the video and it sounded great, but I guess if Raiden's urine suddenly turned purple, I would be freaking out!!!

No it is not clay it's made from wood and looks like sawdust but chunkier, I pay £25 for a 30 litre bag which will last me around 6 weeks using 2 large litter trays.

It says on the bag 100% natural organic fibres, it clumps together like wet sawdust, there is no clay at all involved.

Are you sure you are looking at the right one, this is made my okoplus

I found a good price on Chewy and ordered a bag to see if they like it. Thanks for the suggestion.

We also use cat best, like Clare said the only drawback is the tracking but I'd recommend it too. The wee clumps together nicely as long as you don't try to remove it immediately, needs about ten minutes to 'set'. I've found it much cheaper than catisan and the boys prefer it too.

Clare, you can get 30 litres for £18.99 on zooplus!

Thanks for that, but I get it at pets at home as they send me money off coupons for each month and I think with postage it probably wouldn't work out that much cheaper.

Yes I used to as well because of the money off coupons, but the food I get them is considerably cheaper as well, so because of the size of my order I never have to pay postage and have an extra 7% off until then of the year. Saved myself a fortune!
